LABengalsFan09 Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 Marvin ain't going nowhere anytime soon boys. Thank you Mike Brown. (Did I actually say that???)Keep up the good work Marvin... in you we trust. Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 Wonder if they extended the scouting department along with his assistants? Quote
HairOnFire Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 Does this mean I won't have to read posts about how Mike Brown has so handicapped Lewis in free agency that he'll leave for greener pastures? Props to the Bengals. The article states that all of his assistant coaches were extended through the 2007 season. More props. Oh, and I loved the last line in the article. "Lewis wasn't available for comment and the Bengals released only a statement. But one of the things that is being speculated as a product of the stability is the construction of an indoor practice facility." Quote
Bengalbob Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 Not unexpected, but very welcome . . .http://www.bengals.com/news/news.asp?story_id=5086 Quote
turningpoint Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 Yeah I'm thrilled, but now how about that O-line? Quote
lando griffin Posted February 16, 2006 Report Posted February 16, 2006 One good nugget of info in this offseason....at the minimum, we'll at least have competitive football for the next five years...in the 90s all I ever wanted was a competitive team, super bowls weren't even in my realm of thought back then.Heeeyyyyy! Finally a 100 posts... Quote
kentjett Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 He definately earned it, congrats Marvin. Quote

Brown's way of doing business really has finally found its soultwin in Lewis. Glad to see the program won't be changing in Cincinnati anytime soon. I would love to see Lewis have a 15-20 year run here... Quote
redsbengalsbucks Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 Mike Brown at the very least knows when he did something right.Lewis was coach of the year in my book and will hopefully challenge for that title for many yearsBuild through the draft, what a novel idea, it only works when someone with football knowledge has the major input. This is the golden era of Bengals football enjoy it, Mikey might not make another good choice for decades. walzav29 Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 This is great. 1 step out of the way. Now on the laundry list for 2006.1. Extend Marv - Done2. Get veteran QB3. Draft defensive players\repair defense4. Make sure Palmer is healthy5. Tell Chad to mature6. Deal with Chris Henry Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 Build through the draft, what a novel idea, it only works when someone with football knowledge has the major input.Actually it only works when you have scouts who are able to tell you who's worth picking instead of listening to helmet hair Kiper and the crew of pundits. schweinhart Posted February 17, 2006 Report Posted February 17, 2006 The best thing about it is that Marvin wants to be in Cincinnati that long. He's obviously shown how good of a coach he is and could've climbed up the coaching ladder to a bigger market when his contract had been set to end. He's committed to the Bengals and racking up the wins. Quote
turningpoint Posted February 19, 2006 Report Posted February 19, 2006 we're just setting him up to be traded for 9 1st round picks. Quote
Ox Posted February 19, 2006 Report Posted February 19, 2006 Awsome move. I love how this thread comes after the one talking about how they don't approve of Marvin anymore. Too funny. Quote
turningpoint Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 for those wondering the terms of his deal..he will now be paid, 3.5 million a year over the next 5 years, as opposed to this previous sallary of 2 million a year over 4 years...not bad at all. Quote
Kazkal Posted February 22, 2006 Report Posted February 22, 2006 What is he ranked in highest payed coachs Quote
