He should hang 'em up. I like him, but I'm not counting on seeing him again. Good luck to you Pollack. Take Henry, Frostee, O'Neal, C. Perry, Tory, J. Smith, and Odell with you.

All anyone ever talked about was Palmer's knee. This offseason will be full of hope and promise not doom and gloom. On to the Draft! Anyone have some mock draft positions? Next year is the year!
-
When is the last time Marvin was honest with the press or fans? Warrick and Braham's leg bruises, everyone is innocent, Les is great, and many many more. I don't want Marv to go anywhere, but Chuck is a goner.
-
I just hope that Marvin is at the fed up point with his defense. It's like he said, "they have no identity." I never see any exotic blitzes and they never find a way to get the stops. Marvin has a lot of pride. I would hope at some point he would want this defense to reflect the defenses he has built.

Is it possible that Palmer's suckiness was because his shoulder is actually hurt? He just seemed to suck real bad and I forgot about the hurt shoulder talk. Like an idiot I watched the replay on the NFL network and he missed so many throws, but then again Chad missed a bunch of catches. I'm starting to think TJ may be the steak and Johnson the sizzle.

I never want to see Marvin go, but I agree. Getting rid of this D coordinator seems like a good idea.

I love Marvin, and I love the way he has made the Bengals a competitive team, but the loss at home to Cleveland in his 1st year and last weeks Bronco loss tells me the team isn't responding to something. It's strange, but I have no feeling whasoever that the Shanahan Bronocs or Mangini teams will lose this weekend because so much is on the line. They will have their guys ready. The Bengals always seem to fold in the big ones. I don't know if it's youth, character, planning, or talent. It's just a bummer.
-
Who do you think he was referring to when he said the team needed to make changes?
-
There is 1 thing going for the 49ers and Raiders. No one gives them a chance. It's still a rookie QB in Denver and Gore could have a big one, and the Raiders do have a tough D.
-
Thanks people. I can't believe what I have to root for this Sunday. I do think the Chiefs will beat the Jags, but I can't see the Raiders or 49ers winning. I can't believe I have to pull for the 49ers. Sickening

When the Bengals lost head-to-head? I just don't get it.

This is the problem. It is not enough to play for a winning record. Oh boy. The Bengals sweep the Steelers. That would be something in the pre-Marvin era, but not now. There is no reason that we shouldn't be talking homefield advantage. I think as fans we should be beyond just being competitive. If we raise or expectations than maybe the players will as well.

What I meant by horrible was the way they coulda shoulda so much this season. So many games that they shouldn't have lost put them in an underachiever mode.

All of these and the great Peter King picked against the Bengals too. Looks a lot like last week! Good news for the Bengals.

Before week 1? I am having a lot of arguments and I am using that as an example. Thanks.

Although I'll be happy to see the Bengals in the playoffs no matter what. If they lose this weekend, I'll be devastated.
-
Do you think Chuck's defense would be quite a bit better with Pollack and Thurman? It seems like it still is missing a dominant player. or Chuck is the most unimaginable coordinators in the NFL?
-
Something else I forgot about was our losing streak at Arrowhead that ended this year. If they could handle LJ at the Arrow then Cutler at Invesco should be doable.
-
I agree, but how they lost Monday is the same recipe that caused the majority of their losses this year. They have to make the other team stop them. They should stop themselves. 2-4 against the division leaders and 0-2 blowouts against the big dogs. Manning and Brady. The O-line makes a huge difference too.

I'm nervous. I think the old Bengal ghosts are still lingering. I remember Ben when he was a rookie beating us twice, and the Bengals late season performance's under Marv seem to include a huge let down game. I'm spooked that Denver has lost 3 in a row at home, and the Bengals haven't won their since 1975. It's going to be a bummer Christmas eve with a loss.
-
The Steelers lost 26-7 @ Indy on Monday night last year. A win Sunday and all are hopes will be back. We (fans) don't seem to confident that it will happen. Why are we doubting so much?
-
It does make me nervous that Denver has lost 3 straight at home. They are usually a good home team, and it seems unlikely they lose 4 straight at home. Each week is different though. They need to make Denver stop them, and I'll take Palmer in a shootout over Cutler. After 2 straight subpar games from Palmer he should have a good one soon. Better be this week.
Spooky Stat is Marvin's record in his last 4 games.
2003 - 1-3
2004 - 2-2
2005 - 2-2
2006 - 1-1 so far. If they go 2-2 again. Doom. Unless one of the games is this game coming up. Soon though Marvin will have this team finishing strong like the way he has made them start strong.

I'm all for it! Jevon Walker has a seperated shoulder and is questionable for Sunday. (Sirius NFL Radio)
-
It seems their offensive and defensive plans didn't match. If you are going to make them dink and dunk then you have to get the big plays. If you are going to do crazy blitzes and turn up the heat you play keep away. Very, very frustrating. It all comes down to Sunday.
ESPN REPORTS ON POLLACK
in Cincinnati Bengals

I think Smith is ok, but he is not worth big money. Like it or not the Bengals need a DE who can generate a pass rush on the QB. There is never any pressure on the quarterbacks.
