I am having a hard time finding actual game info on this guy. I can find stats, but I'm wondering about the "eye test". Preseason is nothing. In college, he had so much talent around him that I don't know if you can really get anything from that. Along with the NFL being completely different. I saw some bad last week, but some good. I am officially nervous. I would feel even worse if this was his rookie season. I'm looking for optimism. He kind of looks like a doofus, BUT. With a girl like that. He has to have some moxie to him.

The Bengals are not going 3-3. It's crazy to see the panic. If we lose Sunday (we won't) I will get antsy.
-
Bengals will win the rest of their games this season. Starting Sunday. Bengals 28 Rams 10

There is no argument left to be made. It's the oddest thing I've ever seen. I guess a change in head coach is in order. I know we risk going back to the dark ages of the 90's, but the 6 playoff seasons consist of 2 entirely different teams with the same playoff results. Marv has to go.

There is a small theory that when a QB has a Mega-Star Receiver they tend to force it to them instead of going to the other options. I have zero confidence right now because after 24 years. I just can't imagine winning a playoff game. I know that our secondary is good and their running game is bad. But whatever. I'm sick.
-
Are we in agreement that no one who missed practice all week and was listed as doubtful on Friday actually played on Sunday?
-
There has to be a piece, either the o-line or d-line where they say "F-IT! We're going to impose our will" - If it's the O-line then we'll win.

I feel tons of pressure for this game. I would imagine Dalton is feeling 100 times that. We have seen him play great, and then of course horrfic. The Bengals slowed the Colts down for a few drives, but could not do anything. Having Hill back there will be huge, and of course AJ. The thing I hate about having a premier WR is that most teams that have one always seem to force them the ball. It seems completely logical that Sanu would have plenty of opportunities. The secondary has been a strength all year, and they cannot run. Just win this game, and it changes the outlook of everything going forward. A loss, and I'm pretty down. This season has sucked because as soon as the Charger game ended last year. I knew no matter what. The only question would be, "yeah but will Dalton win in the playoffs?" - I sure miss Geno Atkins. I'll have grey hair by Sunday.

Bengals win Sunday. That is all.
Have a nice day.
Do you have "that feeling" - I'm baffled this season. Sunday will be stressful. I've been sweating Johnny Football since Cleveland drafted himm. The fact that this is the 1st game he starts, does not make me comfortable.
-
I agree. Especially with Geno being at 60% of his normal self.
-
I expect the Bengals to break out to an early lead, but Luck will make a run. The defense has to step it up. This would be a great ground and pound game!
-
Shame on you guys. What has happened that you've lost all faith? Dalton is a stud. We can run the ball, and play keep away. Luck is phenomenal, but does turn it over. The fans have the same problem as the team. We have to learn to deal with an excellent team. We should have won last week. 100%. Atkins will get healthier each week. Then the D will get better.
Bengals 20
Colts 10

I used to be excited for Pre-season. It took me a while to learn it means absolutely nothing. Just make it out alive. I do like Scott though for backup.
-
I'm sure you guys all heard the Bridgewater report at 24. I'll puke.
-
It's going to be difficult to re-sign Andy. I know the majority of fans hate him, but the fact is. He has an impressive regular season resume. Obviously the playoffs are the ugly part. But I'm sure Daltons agent will use the comparison to Cam that Dalton has more wins, yards, td passes, and playoff APPEARANCES than Cam. So I really will be surprised by a deal getting done. I am excited that they're going after Vontaze, but I am still a little nervous of what millions will do to this guy. I think AAron Murray in the 4th would be a good insurance policy.

HEY GUYS! Great to be back! Please forgive me for repeating myself or things you've already read.
#1. Bengals will draft Taylor Lewan or Darqueze Dennard. Whichever is available. (I hope)
#2. Mike Brown does not LOVE Dalton. He rewarded Palmer December 29th 2005 with a huge extension (before blown out knee). Looking back at Palmers 2005 season. It was tremendous. Did the knee get him? Who knows, but 67% 32td passes was pretty great. What does this mean?
#3. I could see the scenario where Brown selects a QB #1. Blake, Manziel, or Bridgewater will slide to 24. If he takes one. I believe it will be the end of the Mike/Marv era. 4th round or later they take a QB? Business as usual. Personally I'd like to draft.
#1. CB/OL
#2. CB/OL
#3. RB
#4. QB
By the way. Waiting for the May draft SUCKS. It's all about May sweeps.

Don't have a heart attack. The guy is great, but the list goes on and on of superstar WR's that don't win the SB. This team is on the verge of a SB defense. I think if the emphasis is the run, te's and a pass to some serviceable guys like Jones/Sanu and who ever else could get the job done. Basically the Seattle formula.
-
I can't imagine a 5 11' QB going in the top 5. There is a certain backlash going on Manziel. I still think he goes in the 1st, BUT if he did have a Aaron Rodger/Thurman Thomas type fall. Would you want the Bengals to take him? I'd say why not? If he fell to the 3rd round. 1st? No. 2nd? Thats debatable. What are your thoughts?

Seeing as how I don't really care much for what the writers have to say, I can't say as I care that much.
No ill will and I wish him well in Cleveland, but the next guy will come in and it will be more of the same.
It's been a VERY long time since there has been someone writing about the Bengals that I really cared much about.
I think it was more his twitter persona that bothered me. I follow a lot of Bengals feeds on twitter just for general news and updates. Reedy always felt...disinterested.
He was an a-hole on twitter. I can't stand him, and I'm glad he's leaving. I hope he covers the Dolphins, so Richie Incognito could give him a wedgie.

Who cares? Free Agency is so over-rated. Who won the Free Agent battle last year? Cleveland? Tampa? The Bengals have to draft well. Thats it. They are extending their best players. They won't be able to keep everyone. You have to draft the replacement, and hopefully they can learn behind them and excel. Margus Hunt will have to step in for MJ. MJ will get a huge deal and then disappoint. A couple guys here and there, after the market settles of course. The draft baby. That's what makes and breaks you.

BUT you can still catch my Bengal stylings on twitter. walzav31 - Andrew Whitworth called me a moron. I felt after the playoff game Dalton was getting a pretty big national beat down. I metioned to some of the Bengals players that they didn't have Andy's back. Here was Whitworths response
"Don't be a moron.. Try showing us respect. If you believe what you said then you can't read or hear. Move on!!"
Which I found strangely obnoxious. YES. I'm just a "fan" and he's an almighty player! But if he gets let go, he could sign with the 49ers or Steelers in a heartbeat and not think twice. Nor should he. My point is to quote Seinfeld I believe. Is us fans love the uniform.

I did. I retired. The pressures of fame came too fast. The women, money, drugs, and booze that just gets thrown at you when you are a blogger. ESPECIALLY when you blog about the Bengals. Is just too much.
-
See, I make my Bengal day off limits to everyone. I think that will be a good adjustment. I did quit blogging. So step 1 is complete. Now it's just scheduling something for a Sunday. I do enjoy it though. Babysteps.

Like an idiot I put on the 30 minute recap of that game. You can see it On-Demand. Talk about giving away the game.
Kenny's INT inside the 20 after recovering opening kick fumble
Collinsworth Fumble after catching long pass
Fumbled kick return right before the end of the 1st half giving SF a free 3 pts
The horrific play calling and missed assignments when it was 1st and goal from the 4 yard line
The other Ken Ander interception that led to another 3 pts for SF
I'm turning 40 this yr. I've spent every Sunday waiting to see the score flash (from Detroit) through the 80's. Then I got to watch every miserable game of the 90's with the wonderful invention of the satellite. Now after another gut wrenching playoff loss. I'm thinking. At my age. Should I invest every Sunday watching? Can I move to just being a casual fan? 32 seasons are alot. I actually felt my blood pressure rise watching a REPLAY of a Superbowl from 32 years ago. That can't be healthy. I think i'm winding down. It's just seems so hard to get a Superbowl win, and the agony of getting their and losing is WORSE than not even going.
Okay, Season's Over, Let's Speculate....

Adam may realize there is no as much money as he wants out there. The good news is that the core players are signed. They'll let everyone run out and fish. Then sign them for a reasonable deal.
