Calling it now. He's gonna be cut. Though I would be sorry to see him go.
He can't be cut according to the agreement with the NFLPA for this. He will be given a chance to seek treatment in the offseason. Nothing will be done to him short of maybe a you don't start (gee go figure) this week. Nothing will be done until he is found GUILTY. He is accused, and innocent at this point. That's the law, and until we find out it wasn't oregano and allergies to his new car smell, we have to assume nothing will happen because there is no guilty verdict. s**t, if Huggins can get off for most of a season after being plastered, do you think Chris Henry is going to get any time?
After the playoffs, the case will go to court. Over the offseason, should he be found guilty, he will be subject to whatever decision the league makes, and it will take place next season. We are talking about a first time offender here too, not a Ricky Williams.

4 Tight ends sucking... uh wait.... uh...
I'll wait for 5 and go with
5 INTERCEPTIONS!

I'd hate to have to go up against KC in our first game, but I hope we can go up against New England in our first game... oh the joy, the rapture of putting Leon out on his keister in the playoffs.

First of all you cannot compare the Askew situation to the Chris Perry situation. We've seen enough out of Perry to know that he isn't a bust and has the potential to be a great third down RB and maybe even a good starting RB. Whenever he is in, he takes advantage of his opportunities. Mathias hasn't shown us crap yet, we've heard about his potential but haven't witnessed sh** . He's almost done w/ his second year and he hasn't played in a handful of plays. Considering he only signed a three year deal, it's safe to say he hasn't panned out. He's been Marvin's worst draft pick, I'd agree w/ GROIII on this subject. It's all right not to know everything, keep that in mind.
However, remember this.... 2 years ago, people said TJ Houshmanzadeh was a bust and injury prone because he went on IR. Marvin said stuff it, and TJ came back a savior. Last year, Marvin drafted Chris Perry, everyone moaned and groaned it was a bad pick, then he got injured and everyone pulled out the bust word again. Marvin said stuff it, and this year, he's been great. For years, Rudi Johnson rode the pine behind Corey Dillon and we never saw him on the field. In his first two years, Rudi had all of 67 yards. Was he a bust? Mathias Askew hasn't shown us what he can do yet, and people are pulling out the bust word again. Marvin's worst pick? Wouldn't that be Dennis Weathersby who never even made it to the field because he had a freak occurance magnet implanted in his body? Anyway, it is too soon to call the man a bust.

The only rookie with any large number of sacks is Shawne Merriman. However, Shawne only has 7 sacks, 42 total tackles, zero interceptions, 2 forced fumbles, 3 passes defensed and no touchdowns.
Odell, on the other hand, has just 1.5 sacks, 81 total tackles, 5 interceptions, 4 forced fumbles, 3 passes defensed, and a touchdown.
Odell is making more plays and more BIG plays than Merriman.

People in Cincinnati learned this important lesson from our very own Jerry Springer! Don't get caught!

TNBT for your information Fanene played some DT and was very disruptive against the Steelers. Go back and look at the game. You think you own this damn board and that is BS. Lighten up a little bit. I mean it would be one thing if you knew what you were talking about, but honestly you don't have a clue.
Fanene lined up at end. Marvin was asked in an interview if Fanene could line up at tackle after the injury bug hit. He said he wasn't ready for DT yet.
I don't think I own this board, but if you can't take being told you are flat out wrong, that's not MY problem, it's yours.

First of all, how do you know anything about Askew on the field? We haven't seen enough to know if he is the next great DT. Yes, he's had his share of injuries, but then again, should we say Chris Perry doesn't have talent because he has too? Or perhaps we should say TJ has no talent since he missed a year and was also prone to mistakes early in his career? We won't know until we see him.
Secondly, you say Fanene can play DT. However, Marvin said he wasn't ready for that yet. I think he knows better than you.

I think it is funny that three DTs have left here (pre-Marvin) and were successful elsewhere. Kimo, Kelly Gregg and Brenston Buckner have all done better after leaving here. And we are still trying to fill and improve that position. Can't figure that one out.
That's an easy one............MIKEY.........
Until he realized he needed a football man to run the team, no one wanted to be in the Queen city.
Uh wrong, but nice try. The fact is they weren't well coached.

In an article in USA Today, they pick Odell Thurman as the frontrunner for Rookie of the year!

Getin' a bit close to the Bears black jersey, isn't it? (I do like it, nonetheless)
A little too close to the browns poop colored jersey for my taste.
-
LOL some idiot posted a how dare you leave Merriman off the list. Guy has all of 42 total tackles, no interceptions, no TDs, half of Odell's forced fumbles, and he wants him on the all pro list?

The Bengals aren't allowed to change jerseys for a few more years. There is a limit to how often a club can redo their jerseys.
I think alternates are an exception arent they?
I believe you still have to keep the same alternate jersey for a set number of years that is more than a whopping 2. Throwbacks, etc. that are reproductions of previously accepted uniforms are exceptions.

Hey, let him come full circle and retire a Bengal, I won't complain, so long as he realizes he's coming as a backup until he proves he's worth more.
He has size, he has speed, and he has talent. He's had a better year than Robinson, and Thornton. They can both go while we keep Smith and add another rookie or young free agent.
Adding a guy like Big Duddy would be great for the organization. Who better to say hey, everything has changed. This organization drove me to the point of being crazy and calling the city racist. This organization hired Marvin Lewis, proved me wrong, and has totally corrected everything I disliked. This team is a proven winner, and is going places. I want to retire a winner in a Cincinnati jersey like I should have. It would be good locker room motivation.

The only Takeo I remember was a great player who put it all out on the field. It's too bad he didn't like Cool-Aid.
However, that being said, Odell will more than make up for his loss.
-
I believe he has had some knee problems for the past few weeks.
Past few what? Past few YEARS is more like it. The dude is done. He should have admitted it before he attempted to play for us last season. That was bad enough. To sign on with Seattle was a mistake.

I just want Wilkerson to play.
I don't! If Wilkerson plays, that means Ritchie is gone!
-
Impressive, he's averaging less than 1 catch per game he plays, less than 2 catches per game he STARTS, and just over 10 yards per game he plays. His longest return was 10 yards.
And some of you wanted to keep him?

its great but do you think it is a little much by players that arent that good? i mean the only player that is a star in the video is odell thurman. the song would have been better if no bengals would have been in it or all the bengals would have been in it like the superbowl shuffle. but it still rocks
A lot of the guys in the video may not be stars for the Bengals yet, but they are the future of the Bengals. Fanene, Andrews, etc.

Warrick is an afterthought.
-
They didn't cover last week at home?
Nope.
-
Hopefully it's a sign of things to come for the Bengals. Also, one of my friends said that one of the guys just bought a Mercedes convertible, basically confirming that they won.
Same rumor I had heard
I love the fact that EVERYONE at the mat was shouting WHO DEY as they won. The Linz family was a great testiment to the city, and a good set of fans.

TMQ likes the Bengals, has for about 2 years now.
Whether you like Easterbrook or not, you can't say that he's like some other columnists who only jumped on the Bengals praise bandwagon only this year. He's liked the Bengals ever since Marvin showed up and started to change the dynamic of the team.
Easterbrook even had nice things to say abotu Cincy when there shouldn't have been nice things to say about us. Ever since Marvin was hired he's been all over the story.
