  1. Nice toss by woodside on that 4th down pickup
  2. Yeah they completely shut down the Bears’ ones. Just preseason, vanilla playcalling etc but still a nice showing.
  3. Damn D2 getting the job done
  4. Well that will wake woodside up.
  5. I like this Woodside kid. Calm in the pocket, makes good throws.
  6. D off to a good start
  7. Way things have been going I dread the injury report after this game. Eric All to get a lot of work today. https://www.bengals.com/news/erick-all-jr-coming-off-the-blocks-vs-bears
  8. ESPN has a really good piece by Ben Solak on the ongoing Aiyuk drama in SF that provides some sort of global context to the whole WRs-getting-paid storyline this year here: https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/40855012/brandon-aiyuk-contract-49ers-trade-wr-steelers-pay-contract-extension One point that caught my eye is right up front: I'm gonna go ahead and be the one to say it. Fine, Chase, you think you're the shit? Go whistle. We'll give your money to Tee and draft a guy.
  9. Ouch. Vikes lose McCarthy for the year. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/40860002/sources-vikings-rookie-qb-jj-mccarthy-miss-2024-season
  10. Chase is actually making almost $5 million this season; Schefter conveniently left out his roster bonus in his now infamous rant. The bengals have also picked up the fifth year option, which is a fully guaranteed (almost) $22 million. So sure you can argue he’s underpaid atm but it’s not like he needs to busk on the street corner after games to make ends meet.
  11. Hip actually but yeah, sucks. Browning out with a rib injury. Chase a no show at practice, possible contract situation escalation.
  12. Hobs pimping Kirkland at OT:
  13. In similar vein, I blame Mike Brown.
  14. Mims out “several weeks” with a strained pec. Sigh… https://www.si.com/college/georgia/football/cincinnati-bengals-ot-amarius-mims-injured-during-training-camp-01j53w60qx95
  15. I wouldn’t be surprised if carman was deliberately screwing up. He has no future here and knows it. The sooner he gets cut, the better it is for both him and the team. Frankly I have no idea why he’s here at all. He’s a sub replacement level guy and he needed to be gone at least a year ago.
  16. Jones week to week. Good news all things considered. https://www.si.com/nfl/bengals/gameday/zac-taylor-confirms-charlie-jones-week-to-week-with-knee-injury-01j4vc33g3zk
  17. Good start, I’ll take it.
  18. I’ll be stuck at a wedding because of course, but I’m going to try to sneak out for a few. No injuries!!!!
  19. Notable since the bengals said they are trying extend McMoney. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/40736905/sources-chiefs-make-harrison-butker-nfl-top-paid-kicker
  20. Especially horrible since he’s in a contract year. Re a FA signing, Carl Lawson is still available.
  21. Some thoughts from Lap. Basically it’s Murphy and Ossai right now with Cam gone, and Trey and Hubbard dinged. Cedric Johnson with a chance to step up too.
  22. Sample out for the year, torn Achilles. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/40735874/bengals-de-cam-sample-year-torn-achilles Bummer. Murphy, you’re up.
  23. Yeah, cutting Trent would be foolish. If Mims can start day 1, awesome, Brown gets to be first off the bench if either tackle gets hurt. And if Mims hits the rookie wall come December, Trent is fresh and ready to go.
