  1. The 2005 line was one of the best in team history, if not the best. I think Carson took around 12 sacks the whole year. They were dominant. And then it all fell apart. First Buckethead broke a leg and that was all for him. The parade of horribles that would try to replace him through the years has already been listed. Then they let Steinbach walk because they don’t pay guards. Instead they gave 5/25 to an aging Willie Anderson who only collected on the firs 2 of those 5. Levi Jones got 6/30 if memory serves and collected for 3 before his knees completely gave out (which he blamed on the Bengals’ medical staff). And then, of course, came Moobs. And not long after that Carson quit. I still have nightmares about the oline in the latter half of the Aughts.
  2. Yeah, Baltimore wasn’t particularly dominating, but Dalton didn’t get a lot of help. Saints couldn’t run the ball when it mattered and the NO oline couldn’t keep Andy clean. And the play calling was chickenshit; what was the point of the two FGs? Go for it, you have nothing to lose! That said when Andy did have a chance he choked, like that miss of a wide open receiver in the end zone.
  3. WINTERCEPTION!!! That’s it folks good night
  4. Vintage. Like a fine aged milk.
  5. Just missed
  6. The castaways got to Gilligans island in less time than this drive
  7. 1 yard pass on 3rd and 3…this game is freaking traumatizing
  8. Did ok that time. Time for more shennANDYgyns.
  9. So let’s review: can’t run the ball, oline sucks, d leaves guys wide open in the end zone more or less…Andy must feel right at home.
  10. Once again no help
  11. almost a WINTERCEPTION!
  12. Lamar sucks
  13. Andy with a nice scramble pass but getting no help. Kamara can’t get going, oline allowing free rusher on third and long. Punt.
  14. 8-8 vs. Baltimore as a Bengal, 0-2 since. https://www.statmuse.com/nfl/ask/andy-dalton-record-vs-baltimore-ravens
  15. IIRC the team wanted him to have surgery and thought he could come back faster that way, but Palmer was all, “naw dawg Imma just let it heal by itself” and more or less just took himself out of the season. And tbf his oline boasted the likes of the Dancing Bear, Scott Kooistra and Guy-check. I wouldn’t have been in a hurry to return either.
  16. Yeah good luck with that. https://www.thedrawplay.com/comic/dr-dalton-and-mr-andy/
  17. Well, given the example of Tesla, those replacement parts would be built shoddily in a Chinese factory and prone to spontaneous combustion, so I’d probably pass…
  18. Meanwhile in Indianapolis… https://www.indystar.com/story/sports/nfl/colts/2022/11/07/indianapolis-colts-news-jeff-saturday-named-interim-head-coach-frank-reich-fired-jim-irsay/69626985007/
  19. Bengals got Carolina’s CB and DL coaches canned. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/panthers-fire-two-assistant-coaches-after-blowout-loss-to-bengals-activate-sam-darnold-off-injured-reserve/
  20. So, eight games left. Steelers: should have beat them the first time, have to now. Titans: have been feasting on lesser teams (and not all that convincingly) after starting 0-2. If the Bengals don’t shit themselves again they can win. Chiefs: this game will probably tell us a lot about whether we should get our hopes up again. Clowns: can’t shit themselves again. Bucs: Brady is done. Pats: BB vs. ZT? I know which way I’d bet. Bills: see Chiefs. Ravens: see Clowns. They need 5 wins to have any real chance at the postseason imho. Maybe 6. Basically put themselves in the same hole as last year when they also lost too many easy games early and made every November and December game a must-win. Guess we will see if they can pull it off again.
  21. A no stress game is always appreciated. The Bengals did what they should have done, thrash an inferior team. Now time to heal up.
  22. Misses are in his head now
  23. 2s across the board now on defense
  24. Hill out, right shoulder
