  1. Yeah, I can see that. I've always through there were a couple other contributing factors. One is the tailgating culture that has grown up around sporting events and particularly NFL games. It's all about getting to the stadium as soon as the lots open and pounding beers until game time. There are some pretty simple ways to stop this but teams don't seem to have any interest in doing so. The second, related issue I think is the stupid high cost of a beer at your average sports venue. It encourages people to get hammered before the game (and so contributes to the tailgate issue) or sneak in their own alcohol (usually high-proof spirits like Army cites) and you end up with a far more liquored-up crowd than you would have if beers were five bucks and they quit selling after the half.
  2. Vote for Charlie! https://www.nfl.com/voting/rookies/
  3. All-whites for the Rams game.
  4. Zac didn't rule out sitting Joe yesterday.
  5. Breech makes the case for sitting Burrow https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/why-putting-joe-burrow-on-injured-reserve-might-be-best-way-for-bengals-to-save-their-season/ The most compelling part of the argument is probably this:
  6. Well, might not have to worry about Chubb til next season. That looked ugly.
  7. The D had a decent first half after the initial Ravens TD drive. They also had a potentially game-changing turnover stripped by the refs on an iffy hands to the face call. Second half did have a couple big breakdowns. There was the long bomb to Flowers, which sucks but it's going to happen, the other team gets paid to play, too. Much more aggravating was getting the Ravens in 2nd-and-23 and not being able to get off the field. And that play points up something about the rushing yards: about a third came from Lamar. The QB of this week's opponent is...not Lamar. Oh, and their stud RB was out with an ankle injury. We'll see if he plays Monday. So I have some hope for the run D this week.
  8. I dunno, vol, I can't agree. The Cleveland game, yes, but Sunday's game was a different beast. I really don't care if Burrow throws long or just takes the short stuff the D was giving them yesterday, as long as they move the ball and score, And outside of the first quarter, moving the ball wasn't a problem. Points otho were. Burrow's red zone pick was absolutely devastating. Driving to the 9 and then settling for 3 proved to be another killer. That's an 11 point swing in what turned out to be a 3-point game. I do think the points will come. I feel much better about the offense today than I did last week at this time. (Burrow's calf news excepted, of course.)
  9. Yeah, the calf looks like it's going to be an ongoing issue. If Joe's not going to be right all season, then this year is probably a lost cause already. I saw Doc argue in his TML newsletter today that they should shut Burrow down for the next three games. Considering the competition, he thinks they could pull out a couple wins with Browning. I guess maybe? But even if so, Burrow's already had weeks upon weeks of rest and his calf still relapsed less than two games in. Not sure a few more weeks would matter. I never really believed in curses, but man, this franchise...
  10. If you ranked my top three most obnoxious, most hammered, most drunk/high/both binges, they would all involve a pro sports event or venue. Specifically a Reds game (that night ended in a Monte Carlo flipped upside dow and smashed into a telephone pole), a Jets game (you think those bitches were wasted you should have seen me that day) and a Dead concert at Giants stadium ( I will do time in hell for my actions that day I’m sure). Something about stadiums just brings out the drunks. And the worst in me. Which is why I don’t go anymore.
  11. Bengals win this guaranteed by Hoosier.
  12. They left themselves no margin for error when they pissed away the whole first half. At least it looks like the offense finally got its shit together in the second. Hopefully Burtow is ok for the Rams.
  13. Burrow a bit gimpy per lap, treating the calf in the sideline
  14. O line crumbling
  15. Eh it’s over, just hoping no one gets hurt.
  16. And Chase is hurt oh it was Queen thank god thought it was jamar
  17. That should about do it. 0-2 again coming up.
  18. TE kills them again. Hope Scott is ok.
  19. Good. Boyd should have had it a play earlier tho.
  20. Well here we go again…
  21. 6+ quarters and the offense has scored 6 points. Pathetic.
