I'll predict Will Hernandez. Address the weakest spots first. Lots of depth across many positions but the elite lineman are few.

Who ya like?

I'm going to guess that this forum has slipped in tracking the draft so far. Well, let's keep the tradition alive with some focused words on the R1 pick of these Cincinnati Bengals.
Billy Price - Center/OL Ohio State.
Words from Mike Mayock:
21. Billy Price, C, Cincinnati Bengals
Price can play all three interior offensive line positions positions. It's a great pick because they traded for Cordy Glenn, the left side is solid. After that they're hurting up front. That gives them a starting center with the capability of playing either guard.
Kingwilly comment: I like that they went C, as we ALL saw Bodine perfect the "falling backwards hold" maneuver, so let's all hope Price never has a need to learn it.

awesome stuff in this thread. good work, boyz.

"listen up, flappers, we go defense early, hoping Edward's from Vtech slips. I don't want to hear a bunch of moaning about the O-line, the fella from Dallas gonna have Cedric so sharp his elbows will put out an eye. If we get a chance at the Rudolph kid, let's get him in stripes in round 2. He's taller than Andy, right? Stronger arm? Good. Get him. You guys can handle Saturday and Sunday on your own."

Looks solid.
I'm looking for a rb a bit earlier, though. Jones from USC looks like a sleeper. Chubb if he falls to r3.
Ogbo Okoronkwo is a compelling edge rusher.
This is a quietly good draft class.

I'e been making that mistake since they drafted him. That'll teach me to have a stroke.

Phins are now in the dark side of winning, lol, the offseason. They look to be in fire sale mode since their plan has flopped.
Shuh supposedly gone. Timmons, Landry gone.
Timmons I would take for sure but I bet Pitt will be in fast pursuit since Shazier is out for the year already.
Shazier is never playing again.

At this point for the Browns it has to be Super Bowl or bust in the next 3 seasons.
They sold their souls and won 4 games in 3 seasons along with an immortal 0-16 season.
Eventually they have to get better.
Browns have been winning offseasons for a long time. Their fans haven’t been able to buy a division championship hat since 1989, lol.
I have not seen the browns land guys of this caliber, after addressing the O-line last year.
They also just added Carlos Hyde today. If they grab Saquon and Bradley Chubb they'll have made some real improvements.
Bengals got Cordy Glenn in a (good) move that says Watson and Ogbuehi are busts. Let that sink in.

I’ll take him back but on a vet deal with incentives. He’s still an all-pro returner.
If he could stay healthy, he's a good returner, but isn't among your top 3 roster corners, isn't a safety and is 34 with a history of F ups.
He's had neck issues back when, I wouldn't be surprised if he might be done. Or come back later in the season. He will play if he wants. Teams will (always) want a cheap vet corner, especially those with return skills.

Maybe I'm not seeing the topic discussed but where is the observation that Cleveland just made bold, sharp moves?
Apologies if I missed any specific thread chatter.

Re-hiring mediocre Marvin felt like a kick to the balls for me. All the talk and speculation of Lewis leaving had my hopes high. Now it's like someone opened a door a let a over ripe fart back in the room.
Devoid of vision, discipline, accountability, but great at worthless slogans that are supposed to inspire at training camp. Last year' "Run on your own gas" was particularly lame.
I'm not expecting big changes in results. Mr. Never Won A Playoff Game is still in charge.
This.

There's a rumor that Marvin was seen wearing Bodine's high school letter jacket while they ate together at a Steak N Shake in Kentucky, so, for sure they're fucking.
Black Jesus and Jeffro fucking?
Lord help us, no one wants that image.

On a business note, I found this interesting:
Maybe Katie (pumpkin) can do a book report on this.

The Sith Lord has balls Marvin couldn't fathom in his wildest dreams.
Pulling your experienced senior in the National Championship game to put in a completely green freshman? Unbelievable.
I was rooting for Georgia but my hat goes off to Alabama.
Hurt is a redshirt sophomore.
/sarcasm alert/ You see, there's this thing called football practice. It's there that these football coaches gain insight about who is capable of doing football things. They wouldn't have put in the Frosh if they didn't already have a strong understanding and expectation of what he could do.
Thing is, most NCAA teams don't have the abundance of talent from which to have such options, like at Alabama. Teams in the NFL have very rigid hierarchies, seniority, etc., so they don't dare take risks like that, because to have it go wrong and then be hounded, like Maroney was after he installed Peterman, or fired like McAdoo when he did the similar thing with Webb. NFL teams won't take a 'shake it up' gamble, unless it's a true changing the guard move.
He didn't have much choice if he wanted to win. He had the talent, capabilities understood, to put in to see if they could overcome the deficit. I see it as his only option. It worked.

No it doesn't. Show me proof it was Alexander solely that though Ced and Hopkins was better than Z and Whit.
They didn't want to pay top guard they drafted first round market value. They didn't want to pay any other FA guard. They went undrafted with Andre Smith.
They sat the franchise tag. They played this or that with Whit and Dre's contract offers. Just like they did with Pac and Nelson. MJ and Dunlap.
Marvin personally scouted Bodine.
Time for Paul to go. Two decades? Good lord. But it's a scapegoat move to cover up for upper management failures which Marvin takes credit for when times are good and when times are bad he plays the "control" card.
If it was about performance, he'd have been gone at other junctures. Yet, he survived several HCs and had short periods of success with others of awful play and bad personnel decisions. this move does smack of scapegoating but how can someone do worse. At minimum, there will be a new whipping boy, all fired up to get the most out of whoever ML and SoP pick for the oline in FA/draft.

I keep hearing all of the people who really like Marvin because he's such a good guy in the community, continue to say that crap.
"Remember what it was like BEFORE Marvin came ??"
"He has taken this team to the playoffs and made it an expectation here."
"He won 4 AFC North titles and was the NFL coach of the year."To that I continue to bring up only one need rebuttal. 0-7 in the playoffs.
I don't need to say anything else. How can someone be THAT bad and continue to keep their job ??
If they are in the business of winning a Super Bowl here, I have to question the manner in which they are trying to achieve the desired result.
I want to lose about 25 pounds, but my current diet of biscuits and gravy, pizza, many cokes, beer and bourbon are not conducive to my desired result.
How do I plan on changing the outcome in 2018 ?? By eating and drinking more of the above. I'm sure good things are sure to come my way if I just stick to it.
Well, only if by "good things" I mean diabetes, an enlarged heart, and an early death.we all know the definition of insanity. so, that's where we are.
If the Brown family can't see how or why there are so many team in the playoffs who were bad the year before then there's no hope. as it is, there's no hope.
You only have to point to Sean McVay to see what SHOULD happen: housecleaning. and it didn't so this garbage will continue.
in the short tem, lets hope they sign a FA or two to the offensive line, grab a top LB or three in the draft and clean up the roster of the junk (Eifert, Ogbuehi, Fisher, Minter, Jones, Hill, Bodine, Smith, Winston)

having no coach is better than Alexander.
I bet a trained dog would be better .

You know what? I won’t let mike brown break me. I will remain a fan just to spite him. Because him trying to break all of the fan base is the only reason I can come up with for this.
I agree with this approach. For one thing, I can't see myself being a true fan of another team. It's almost like a horribly dysfunctional relationship, where we get abused but keep coming back. Lewis is our Ike.
The real test (beyond the last 15 years) will be if we spend any money on this team. But just understand that the NFL is socialist, so by spending any money on the NFL, you support the Bengals.
You'e welcome.

Well, 2018 Bengals football is shaping up like a steaming pile of the same shit as every year since Lewis' first extension.
Fuckall.

Let's delete this topic, it's just too depressing.

This organization isn’t deserving of the title “Dumpster Fire” if Marvin and others return with no changes.
Why would any fan stick with this team at that point ??
At least a dumpster fire throws off heat.

Jack Del Rio just got fired by Al Davis' very unusual offspring. Any interest in Del Rio? I'd think about it due to his experience. Presumably he'd fix the errors he's made in the past. Unlike Marvin.
I'd be interested but I don't think he'd come to Cincinnati. He'd butt heads with this ownership. He would bring some fire, though.
I think this next HC will determine what happens with Dalton, and to some extent with Green. If they go to a turd with not much to offer, like if they promoted a guy like Lazor or Simmons, things could get ugly quick.
My first person to interview is Pete Carmichael. Then the young guy who's the ostensible OC at the Rams. Then I'd look at a guy like Mike Leach. They need new fresh energy and ideas. That's not coming from a retread like Fisher or Lovie.

R1-12 Mason Rudolph QB Oklahoma State
R2-44 Brian O'Neil OT Pittsburgh
R3-76 Mike Gesicki TE Penn St.
R4-108 Josh Allen OLB Kentucky
R5-140 Armani Watts S Texas A&M
R6-172 Beau Benzschawel OG Wisconsin
R7-204 Rahsaan Evans MLB Alabama
No idea on comp picks or other picks they might have.

Totally agree. As mentioned, all 3 top centers were close in grade. I recall them saying Price can play all interior positions, so maybe that's the key...
3 years.
