Seriously.
Cin 16 Miami13.... If we can't count it neither can you
Cin 23 Den 10......Ah Denver hardly a great team.
Cin 26 Dal 3........ Nice win but Dallas sucks
Cin 17 Was 10.........Squeaked one out against the Skins, Congrats
Cin 58 Cle 48.......... You say this game was a joke yet they put up 48 on you at
your place. 17 yards, thats right, Yards
Cin 27 Bal 26...........Nice win, comeback on the road against a great D. Yup,
even a blind squirrel finds a nut once in a while
Well there you have it, the Cincinasty wins. Now why should I be worried?
First off, the "Hardly a great team" game you gave us, is still better than anyone you beat. Denver was rolling coming into the game and Droughns was piling up the #'s. Our best WR smoked the "best cb in the game." Secondly, the 58 - 48 game is what set them in motion to be currently the worst team in football. At least they put an NFL QB vs. us. They also lost their head coach, that QB, and their best defensive player vs. us, so maybe you should thank us for the fact that you beat them. Dallas has proven that they don't suck. They're not good, but they don't suck and we dominated them. Skins game was bigger than it looked because we had the road monkey on our back, but they are not good. Another thing about the Cleveland game, those types of games just happen every once in a while. They are football anomalies. But don't think for one second we played the same Cleveland teams. Our first game vs. Cleveland was a different team than the one we played at home later in the year. Everyone is on your dicks because of the schedule. It's going to be really funny when you have to play even a third place schedule next year and you wonder what happened halfway the season and you're 1 - 7. "But we were so good last year! Marv come bail us out! take us back the Super Bowl! Why the fall off?"
-
Seriously. How can Bills fans be so cocky? Lets look at the W's.
Miami - 2 wins
Arizona - heir apparent to the Bengals
New York - the game Pennington got hurt
St. Louis - terrible on the road
Seattle - team was in disarray
Miami - 2 wins
Cleveland - unanimously known as the worst team in football
They lost by 14 at home to NE, and by 23 on the road, we lost by 7.
They lost by 14 at Baltimore, we won
I demand that they respect this Bengals game. They certainly will come Sunday at 5.

This team is too good to lose to NE in NE. Read that again if you have to.
I just read it again.
Are You RETARDED???
We are too good to beat NE in NE??
BWAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHA
NE hasnt lost at home in 3 years!! They are the Superbowl champs!! They are tied for best record in NFL!!
BUNGLES FANS ARE HILARIOUS!!!
WE ARE TOO GOOD TO LOSE TO NE IN NE!! Damn then you are too good to lose to anyone ANYWHERE THEN!!
stop the season now Tagliabue, and give the rightful team, THE 6-7 Bungles aka laughingstock of the NFL for the last 15 years, the lombardi trophy!!
too good to lose to new england in new england....musta been a typo...
LOL
You guys played pretty much a perfect offensive game and still had to hold on to beat us, and maybe you don't if the QB doesn't go down. Our offense is better than the #1 defense. On the road. On a different substance than our home field. That is what I am saying. We can beat any team, any where. It's just a matter of "if" we do. Pther teams might get a lucky win. Us beating anyone in this league or any other is not/would not be luck. THAT is what I'm saying. Obviously we don't win that game 50 times if we play 100. But it would be an earned win. Respect this team.

1. The penalties were not as hurtful as they could've been. Of the 9 penalties I saw on our offense, none of them stalled a drive. Most came on touchdown drives, some came on Kitna's INT drive. The worst penalties were the block in the backs. They cost us a lot of return yards.
2. I'm beginning to lose my faith in Justin Smith as a pass rush DE. He's fast and small, which means it doesn't take much to get him slightly bumped and out of the way. Perhaps Geathers or whoever can play RDE and they can use Smith as a spinner. Just a thought.
3. It would've been an interesting situation if Kevin Hardy got that finger tip on Brady while Brady was throwing on the ground. If while Brady was in his throwing motion, even if his arm was moving forward, a fingertip would made him. And it was extremely close.
4. Where in the world was the coverage on that play. How far away does a player have to be for that pass to get completed.
5. Some team will use film of this game to beat the Patriots. It happened in 2001 when we beat Pittsburgh. Last year the play Steve Smith ran vs. the Rams in 2 OT, he said it was something they saw us do at the end of the first half vs. the Rams.
6. The Patriots are a good football team, Corey Dillon played a game like we saw him play for years. Workhorse-like 85-some yards. Receivers got open enough to make us back off, then hook-routed us to death.
7. Chris Perry was active, but didn't take the field. I'm starting to think it may not be the injuries. Note when Marvin said in prior weeks, "plays to get him on the field." Is anyone else reading between the lines here? Why would we have to find plays for him. With all that practice he's missing, he should know this playbook, left and right, inside and out. Are the regular plays too much for him so that we have to design special plays? I believe he's played a total of 4 plays this year. they threw it to him 2x and he ran the ball 2x. That all looks suspiciously like he doesn't know the playbook. With as much time as he's missed, that should not be the case. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think so. Look. As long as he's wearing stripes, I want him to do well. Extremely well. But this pick has really backfired. Are we supposed to go into next year with him as our starter? How much more can Rudi's agent hamstring us now that Perry has 2 carries for 1 yard. and a related sidenote, call it 7a. Rudi, if you want to be here so damn bad, tell your agent to make a deal. You are his boss. You pay his salary. He does what you tell him.
8. Such a shame that Carson got hurt. The accolades were really starting to come in, and deservedly so. The interception was bad, but it wasn't a bad throw, it was an out with our best player vs. a cb who was just coming back from injury. Give credit for the play Samuel made. 3 more games vs a s**tty Giants team and an Eagles team that will only play their starters for a half at most really could go a long way. Going into next year with that confidence and the numbers rising, rising, rising, he would be some people's picks for MVP next year. He sat a year, struggled for 1/2 a year, he was finally seeing the work pay off. However, I'd rather he sit than lose the mobility by getting hurt worse. Remember that scramble in the Jets game? He is dangerous on the move, too bad they just figured it out. For the first time, I'm going to say that he is the man and will be the best ever at that position for this franchise. Remember people wanted Boomer's head to start the 88 season. They booed him out of the stadium for the first half of the Phoenix game in 88, then he was on the bench by week 13 of 1992.
9. Tory James made an e-mail I sent Prisco on Friday look really bad. His comment about him playing at just under a prob bowl level really bothered me. I thought James numbers spoke for themselves. I used the old "If he's not at a Pro Bowl level, then who is?" Well here's an answer to that. A guy who has arms so long they call him the Matrix should not be playing 10 yards off a receiver. Isn't the line of scrimmage the place where he can best make use of his bump and his size? Isn't that the big thing they said about him when we got him? His bump and run is top notch? His reach and strength were supposed to make up for his speed. You're playing into their hands when you play off with him. Not sure what safety was supposed to be in coverage. It was the Free who should've been there, but they started Herring for Beckett, which makes little sense to me because he had been starting at Free while Madieu played for him at Strong. Who knows. the angle they gave was too high to see.
10. I'm officially tired of it. I felt ok on the drive home from watching it with friends, but it is BS. We can play with any team, under any circumstances in any city with anyone hurt. It's now time to win these games. This is the last close L that is going to be acceptable for me. We should be front page Sportsline and everywhere else. I hate to keep saying next year this, next year that, but I'm going to say that 12 - 4, 11 - 5 is realistic next year. This team is too good to lose to NE in NE. Read that again if you have to. I fully expect us to win out. 8 - 8 is not good enough for me right now. This may sound like a negative thought, but it's a positive one. That's my belief level in this team. Marvin said it best. They didn't go there to lose by 7, and last year that game would've been a blow out. They had given up 5 points a game at home this year. We're there. It's time we start playing like it.

4 weeks after having Madieu as his mid-season D-ROY, in his 3/4 awards, Madieu isn't even honorable mention after adding a sack and a 2 picks. Either he wanted to sound hip at the midway, you know the "look at me, I picked a Bengal, I'm cool," or just an oversight,m which I don't believe with all the hype about Madieu and Corey being an even deal this week. Thoughts?

Great card... How bout one of Madieu?
added Madieu, Chad and Tory

Hey is that a real topps card of Palmer are did you make it?
I made the card. There are a bunch at http://www.justdmb.com/topps84/
-
1. The 32-yarder to TJ in the closing minutes worked because every game, every roll out, Palmer rolls right. That’s why he constantly has to check down to the tight end or fullback for a 3 yard gain. Teams flush him out and the DE contains. Remember Jon Kitna always did the spin move, roll left, most notably vs. Oakland to Chad last year in the 4th quarter.
2. Palmer effortlessly winged that pass across his body, a throw we haven’t seen yet in his pro career, and by far the biggest play of the season. There isn’t any Bengal fan I know that didn’t just put their head down after taking the 8-yard sack one play earlier. Remember how exertion Kitna put into the same throw last year?
3. The referees continue to job us. On the interception/fumble return, right when Big Willie almost tackled McAllister, Ed Hartwell came through and annihilated Big Willie. Clean hit, for sure, but Hartwell then immediately took his helmet off, right there on the field in the corner of the screen in front of both God and referee Walt Anderson as Ian Eagle screamed about the hit. A chest bump, however, is excessive.
4. Who would’ve thought that in a game involving a WR with 171 yards and a TD, and a WR with a game changing muffed punt, TJ Houshmandzadeh would be the former, not the latter.
5. From Jim Breech to Jim Gallery to Massimo Manca to Doug Pelphrey to Neil Rackers, I’ve never considered getting a kicker’s jersey, until now. How nice is it that as soon as we got to the 32 the game was over? Remember how when we were driving with Neil Rackers as our kicker you didn’t feel safe until we got it to the 15?
6. Seeing Jon Kitna run around the field after the FG in the same way that I was doing my high-five victory lap in Norwood BW-3 brought a smile. As long as Jon leaves the division, I hope every potential suitor sees that footage and he makes playoff run every year he decides to keep playing.
7. Only one sack yesterday but it came on a creative call. You’ll note that every time we blitz it’s with certain players. Ratliff, Kaesviharn, Beckett, linebackers, Madieu… Yesterday was the first time all year either successful or not that I have seen one of our starting corners (O’Neal or Tory James) blitz. Baltimore wasn’t expecting it, didn’t see it coming, big play.
8. Tory James had only 1 tackle on a pass thrown to a WR. He is becoming one of those guys that QB’s don’t want to throw towards. I still didn’t see the illegal contact. There was no replay that showed any penalty that I could see. He came up and made a tackle on a screen. No idea where the flag came from, maybe it was called on the wrong player.
9. Madieu Williams pads his Defensive Rookie of the Year stats. The great thing is, we’re not the only ones noticing it. Sportsline had him as their D-ROY. His awareness, is remarkable for a rookie. The pass was thrown so hard and so poorly that it hit his pads before he knew it was coming. He still made the play. With Rogers Beckett being a question mark for the rest of his career with these head and neck injuries (ala Jeff Burris last year), Madieu could be here and be the Ed Reed type of player for a long, long time.
10. Unheralded players/plays of the game: Offense – Rudi Johnson for playing in the 2 minute drill and picking up blitzes when Kenny Watson went down. What in the world? His entire career he’s never been put in that situation which is why they got Perry, a 3rd down, 2-minute, blitz picking up, out of the backfield catcher. Defense – Kevin Kaesviharn maybe the most improved player in the secondary. His tackle of Todd Heap in the 1st quarter on 3rd and 8 at the 2 yard line forced a FG and kept us around thinking we could win. Nothing would’ve been as disheartening as to move the ball well on the first series, give up a totally unnecessary fumble, and let the other drive down for a touchdown.

Billy,
So far against Drunkowski:
2. Indirectly responsible for last year's late collapse
3. Indirectly responsible for this year's 1-3 record.
Would I be wrong about ANY of these 5 points???
I didn't see Bratkowski spread the flu to the offense, take Jon Kitna's voice in a rowdy road stadium, or personally go take out Levi Jones's knee vs. Baltimore.
I didn't see Bratkowski fail to cover anyone or run on the field during a punt return vs. the Rams, or plant Adrian Ross's spike in the turf leading to...
I didn't see Bratkowski repeatedly miss tackles, and fail to stay home and properly plug the holes Lee Suggs ran through, or even overthrow a wide open Matt Schobel.
It is ridiculous that opposing teams can average almost 2 bills a game on the ground vs. us in the last 4 games and you're going to blame Bratkowski for the season falling apart.
Bottom line, when you don't stop the run, the other team keeps your offense from scoring. Kitna was attrocious in those 3 games we lost.
You can't get pissed at the power O getting stopped in the same situation that it worked vs. 49ers. They knew it was coming they still couldn't stop it.

Anyone interested in trading some older Bengal games? I can make dvd copies and put tapes to dvd. I have several from the 88 season, if anyone wants to trade, PM me or AIM me at celluloidhero040. I'm also willing to do a blanks and postage of a game for a few people if you want. If you have a few games on tape in basement somewhere, it's a pretty fun hobby to get into.
Anyway, my list is at http://www.justdmb.com/bokon/gamevideo.htm if anyone has any interest in a trade or a B&P.

you know, the best part of this whole deal has been his responses to questions. Things like, "It didn't really matter, I wasn't going anywhere anyways, and already saying he's ready for another 5 year extension in 2009..." I barely even remember what CD said anymore.

does anyone have these?
-
I've also heard radio stations play these tunes. I know 700 has played them, I think I've heard TD Bengals on Homer, too, but I'm not sure.

Anyone going to the game?

I'll be in lot D somewhere. Our tickets are in 109. Luckily, I was born into season tickets and parking passes.
