If somebody else wants to step down or you have a spot open, I would love to get it on it.

Does anybody else think we keep Coffman instead of Coats if Fui and Leonard are both healthy right now? I don't think Peerman would have made the squad with a healthy Leonard and there would have been no need for Coats' versatility with Fui at fullback.

A NFL source confirmed Saturday the Bengals have traded for Jaguars safety Reggie Nelson in exchange for cornerback David Jones and a conditional draft pick.

Bullpen is starting to show some holes again, but all in all, a great series for the Reds. The thing that impresses me the most about the Reds is that Baker can mix the batting order any way he wants and it always seems to work.

That's the dick towel from Always Sunny. http://www.dicktowel.com/
Any particular reason you knew that?
Probably because that show is hilarious.
You are correct. Its one of my favorite shows.

What a game! That suicide squeeze by Heisey was awesome.

My money is if we cut cosby he's becomes a brown.
I'm not ruling it out, but the Browns have Cribbs. I'd say Cosby will go somewhere that is desperate for a punt returner and needs all-around special teams help. I'm still holding out hope that he makes our squad somehow.
-
All I hope is that if Cosby or David Jones doesn't make the team, they get traded for conditional picks to keep them out of the division. Cosby would feed a sizable need on special teams for the Steelers, and I could see David Jones starting for the Ratbirds.
I do think we'll only carry nine offensive lineman this year, so that could open up the possibility of carrying seven wide receivers.

Cueto suspended 7 games. Baker and LaRussa get two games off while Carpenter and Molina get zero. WTF!
Phillips, Springer, Carpenter and Molina did get fined.
Did anybody happen to catch what Springer did? I never noticed him.

Just noticed on MLB.com that the Reds have the best record in baseball over the last 10 games.

Janish has really stepped up big. During the three games he has filled in for Cabrera he is batting .455 with a home run and 4 RBI. Not to mention the .500 OBP and terrific fielding.

Cards lose, we're alone in first.
They LOST!?! They had the lead late against Houston. Their bullpen is really hurting them.
Cards gave up 3 runs in the 8th and 4 runs in the 9th.

I don't see Miami winning it this year. They still have too many spots to fill on the roster, and no money left. Their bench will obviously be weak, so the starters will probably log around 40+ minutes a game. They need another year to fill in some still missing pieces, and the best, and even mediocre in this free-agent class have already agreed/signed, so maybe they pick up some decent depth next year.
So far the Heat roster look like this
PG Mario Chalmers
SG Dwayne Wade
SF LeBron James
PF Chris Bosh
C Udonis Haslem
I believe the only 5 that are under contract right now. Mike Miller apparently agreed to terms, but has yet to sign. Then, their looking to add 4 Rookies: F Da'Sean Butler, G/F Yakhouba Diawara, C Dexter Pittman, F Jarvis Varnado.
That would still only make 10 players (if Miller signs) and by NBA rules you need to have 13 players under contract. Their money is all spent, and they need to sign the rookie 2nd rd picks and still 3 more to fill their roster.
Lakers are still the team to beat, and actually got a little stronger with the signing of PG Steve Blake. I personally think he is a perfect fit for this team, and should be the starter over Derek Fisher. Blake is a much better passer and 3 point shooter than Fisher, and he actually brings the ball up the court (which Fisher rarely does anymore). But Fisher is a quality back-up.
So, Lakers again this year (3 peat) Phil Jackson will retire, and then maybe Miami gets 2 or 3 rings...max.
I think Jarvis Varnado is going to really surprise some people this year. If not this upcoming season, then in the next couple of season. He gave Kentucky more fits than any other player in the SEC.
Also, I think Orlando will win the East next season.

Making moves to add a vet to the bullpen:
Following Sunday afternoon's 2-1 victory over Atlanta, the Reds optioned right-hander Carlos Fisher to Triple-A Louisville. On Monday, Cincinnati is expected to purchase the contract of veteran right-hander Russ Springer.
Springer, who owns a career mark of 36-45 with a 4.52 ERA in 738 appearances, made seven appearances for Triple-A Louisville, allowing just two hits in 6 1/3 innings. He walked two and struck out five.
"He adds experience," said Reds manager Dusty Baker. "He's been in pennant races, World Series. We're young [in the bullpen]. We need a stabilizer to go along with Arthur [Rhodes] and [Francisco] Cordero."
Springer has made 14 postseason appearances, including four in the World Series -- most recently with Houston in 2005. The Reds signed the 14-year veteran to a Minor League contract on July 15.
Fisher was 1-1 with a 6.89 ERA in 13 appearances.
Springer is expected to wear No. 50.

With Ondrusek really turning it on and Masset coming back around, I'm not too worried about the bullpen (knock on wood), with Cordero being the one exception.

Saw this last night and it surprised me because I had no idea he was getting endorsements already.
-
The Reds are the best fielding team in baseball, and its going to be a crock if Phillips doesn't get another Golden Glove.
-
Thank God. Reds win...
Good God. Cordero is a two legged walking, talking heart attack. Got the job done tonight though!
Ondrusek (spelling) should be closing.

I have a gut feeling that if T.O. is signed, Bryant will be pupped.

I wouldn't say I'm a serious runner, but I do enjoy running. I hate running on concrete and blacktop, so I prefer to run out in the woods. In the Spring, Summer, and Fall, I make lot of trips to a local nature trail that's about a mile and a half long, and run it a couple of times a visit. Its short, but its hell because its in Appalachia Kentucky so you have to take some very large hills. Plus its right on a state lake so you get to cool down and go swimming and cliff diving afterward.
