Ox
OK guys, I ran across this page of the Bengals salary cap, with individual players contracts, the whole team, and broken down by position plus free agency. Check it out, the guy who did this really busted ass getting it together. He goes by the name Phatcat at one of our brethren sites, Go-Bengals. He said he encourage us to check it out since the more we as a fan base know, the better off we really are. Enjoy!Bengals Salary Cap Broken Down
GregCook
I take it on faith that the numbers are accurate. If so, consider the bargain that Chris Henry and Tab Henry are. Also Reggie Kelly at 1.2 million base salary? For a tight end that can't catch. Yep, I'll eat my words on knuckle head Henry. Keep him. ArmyBengal
Yet another reason (BESIDES THE INJURY) why Henry probably won't go anywhere for at least the time being... Nice work on the numbers if they are in fact accurate !!!WHODEY !!!
Ox
***update***Updated the Salary Cap page. USA Today finally came out with the 2005 Salary Database for all NFL teams/players. I use this to help set up each players contracts, specifically how the Bonus dollars are structured and allocated. All in all nothing really changed, with a projected $10.1MM under the cap. Also, I was playing around with the Salary Cap for '07 and did a "what if" analysis to determine what we could afford / not afford for '07 in terms of players salary - enlight of all the discussion around signing the Oline. I made a ton of assumption, but tried to err to the high side to fill out the roster. See What If '07 tab on the Go-Bengals Salary CapI added all of the '06 Draft picks using a projected 2nd year contract numbers:Joseph: $1.8MMWhitworth: $800KRucker: $700KPeko: $600KNicholson: $500KMcNeal or Brazell: $400KKilmer: $400KResigned the following RFA's:Andrews: $1.2MMLJohnson: $1.2MMGeathers: $1.2MMAskew or Smith: $800KLarson: $820KResigned the following Exclusive Rights RFA's:Meyer: $400KWilkerson: $400KBody: $400KJeanty: $400KResigned the following UFA's:Anthony Wright: $1.2MMReggie Kelly: $2MMLevi Jones: $8MMEric Steinbach: $7MMKaesviharn: $1MMFilled out the remaining roster – with '07 draft picksBottom line we still have $10MM in cap space even after signing Steiny and Levi to huge contracts. jditty47
Cap savings if cut?John Thornton - $ 2,000,000Brian Simmons - $ 1,740,000Tory James - $ 4,075,000 simmons making $1.74 mill is cheap. sick of ppl that think he should be cut when he has been the most solid, consistent of players for years for us. haters.thornton is the only one i see that could go that has big money...doubt it though.james aint gettin cut, and $4.075 mill isnt bad for a corner who did what hes done the last 2 years. hes got another year or 2 left. ArmyBengal
Wait and see how Tory does this year with Madieu back and the help of Jackson. We could see both corners in the pro bowl this year...WHODEY !!!

We could see both corners in the pro bowl this year...WHODEY !!!Tory James is very underrated and he's done a ton for you over the past few years. 4M is cheap for a DB, who has played very well... Kazkal
He's not the fastest CB we've always known this ie why he needs help over head but hes still a good CB who is better then alot of teams #
HairOnFire
Really can't believe Tory gets THAT much. Marvin said recently that he has no plans to cut Tory due to his paycheck so I'm guessing we may have to take matters into our own hands, Tonya Harding style. HoosierCat
Tory James - $ 4,075,000 No surprise here; supercat has had a number very close to that sitting on his site forever (see http://bengalsjungle.com/salariesdb.html ). It's the final year of his deal, so naturally it's going to be a large number.I agree, it's tough to keep him around at that price, given his age, declining performance, and the fact they just spent a first on a corner. I think they probably do, but I wouldn't be surprised if they don't, either.

derekshank
Nice... this is more up to date than the site I've been checking.Hey... it doesn't look like we'll be cutting Carson Palmer any time soon.It also looks like they haven't updated the Willie signing... so the $6 mil under isn't completely accurate... but we should still have enough to re-sign Justin during the season if we so desired. HairOnFire
Well, that was weird. I thought I was reading a new thread...yet I somehow stumbled across a post I had written. And then another. And each had that same creepy guy with the red eye and the flaming wig as my avatar. It was almost like that Star Trek episode where the Enterprise passes itself just as it enters a wormhole, and the whole hole thing is so upsetting that Dr. Beverly Crusher freaks out and shows everybody her boobies and her flaming orange..... Who Dey.
