Is this our Groundhog day??

Our chase for a quality DT reminds me of the movie Groundhog day. Every day we hear a rumor of a trade, get exited, hear reports that the deal will happen, then we imagine how this new fatty will help our D, wonder together how the trade will impact our draft, then.... the deal falls through. Then we are told that it's a blessing in disguise or he wasn't worth all that money.

Remember the part in the movie when Bill Murray punches that guy in the face (Ned?). That's what Mikey is doing to us every time he lets one of these guys we want get away. :bengal:

Aww come on Marv...

The Bengals made two legitimate offers that did not work out due to reasons beyond their control.

How the hell is that punching you or anyone else in the face.

Damn a significant percentage of our fan base are crying babies.

It really is that simple. In pro football, like in any business, you try various things. Some work, some don't. Every team explores trades that don't come to fruitation. Every team entertains free agents that don't get signed. It's part of doing business. I'm just glad to see Marvin and the new DC truly blowing things up, then exploring all the options to rebuild. That defense the last couple years was nothing to write home about.
