Section 310 Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 Chris Henry's arrest means he is likely done in Cincy. The guy will probably be in jail with Sean Taylor. If Chad's agent were to decide to pull a T.O. the Bengals are up a creek. Washington has not shown that he can be anything near a #1 receiver. TJ is a clear #2 guy, ala Alvin Harper. Imagine if Chad were to holdout and one of the duo of KW or TJ were to get banged up....it wouldn't be pretty.Let's hope that Chad has enough class and smarts to not follow in T.O's footsteps. It could be disasterous for the club.Opening day offense...QB- Griese, Krenzel or KitnaRB- RudiWR- TJ, Tab Perry & Kevin Walter?? Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 Don't worry about Chad turning TO. He has said multiple times that his agent works for him, and he isn't going to hold out. He has said time and again that he has no intention of leaving Cincinnati, but rather that he wants to be a part of bringing the big time to Cincinnati rather than going to the big time cities. He has made many comments about Drew losing his business if he can't get it done Chad's way. Quote
Whur CHad At? Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 He will not be another TO, god I am sick of hearing about this s**t Quote
Stripes Posted January 31, 2006 Report Posted January 31, 2006 T.O. is in a mold all his own... For all other athletes to see him crash and burn in 2005 should mean that it won't be repeated for a long while. Javon Walker even fired Rosenhaus. Chad knows what he's doing, he won't be an idiot. Quote

Chad knows what he's doing, he won't be an idiot.Unfortunately, the snake (Rosenhaus) will use J. Walker as a reason why holding out is a good idea. He will undoubtedly be filling Chad's head with how many millions he will lose if he gets hurt. IMO Walker's injury and subsequent loss of millions will have more of an effect on potential holdouts than the T.O. situation. It's all about the money. I hope Denver doesn't give T.O. a big fat contract. A modest one year contract loaded with incentives would make sense, but I bet you see Denver 'show him the money'! Quote

He can talk to Chad all he wants about needing to get his money now... but Chad only needs to look at his track record to know that listening to Rosenhaus's method is not the way to get it done. Tasher Posted February 1, 2006 Report Posted February 1, 2006 OMG, I hear the impending sound of doom as the Bengals implode in the post/off-season:Carson goes down w/ torn up kneeHenry blows self upChad holds out, Brown doesn't negotiate w/ terroristsCarson not ready for season, decides to take year off rehabbingYear 06 thrown out window.Bengals repeat history with 4-12 season to follow-up 11-5 season, just like 77 and 78 when we made the playoffs in 77, should have had an even better team coming back in 77 and went 4 - 12.Ug. I'M TIRED OF ALL THIS DAMN OPTIMISM!! Here's the deal...Carson's career will be ended while working with mentally handicapped children, and one of them mistakes his swollen knee as a soccer ball. Then not only does Chad hold out, but Chris Henry takes him down in a hail of gunfire, jacks his gold teeth, and evades to Mexico (don't worry though...he'll soon be caught when he is spotted as wearing the only Chris Henry jersey south of the North Pole). The Bengals then limp to an 0-16 record.Shortly after, the world ends.OK, on a serious note...shut the hell up Quote

schweinhart Posted February 2, 2006 Report Posted February 2, 2006 Hard to believe Chad would hold out but regardless the Bengals are still gonna need his back-up and the #3 WR if Henry's not going to play in 2006. The vertical game is far too important to the overall success of the team not to deal with it as effectively as possible. If Chad had went out for any length of time during 2005, Henry would have been in to replace him and Henry showed enough on the field to believe that the drop off wouldn't cost the team its vertical threat and how it forces defenses to play.
