andybren Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 Speaking of the Panthers...what about Chad for Julius Peppers? Oh Christ, now he's got me doing it. It's contagious...feeling nauseous...dizzy....must leave thread befor-- Quote
schroomytunes Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 I would have to say no, the reason why is this: CJ is locked up till 2008 so we have him for a while longer at a reasonable rate, and 2 he is young and already a perinneal pro bowler. He demands double teams from the opposing defenses, which opens up our other recievers to man coverage and frees the safties from crowding the line of scrimmage. In a hypothetical world if we were to trade him, he would IMO be worth a 1st round pick this year, and a 2nd rounder next, but they would have to be in the top 10 of the rounds for me to pull the trigger. To go off on a tangent with this, I think that this offense needs a TE that can post numbers that look like (30 catches 400 yards 5 TD's) this opens up the whole offense and still keeps him as a primary blocker for the running game. NJ29 Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 Ther's only one other wide receiver that I'd trade Chad for... Steve Smith. Quote
AMC Posted January 21, 2006 Report Posted January 21, 2006 OK time to regroup the thread! Trading CJ is the DUMBEST, most IDIOTIC, IGNORANT, out of the a$$ thought I have ever heard....Whether it came from a stoned dude in Spain or not! Quote
buck3y3d Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 no way in hell! enuff about trading CJ!! any1 who thinks CJ should be traded, get the f*ck outta here! jesus.....Think man before you write. People on here (at least I do) love the Bengals and not any, one particular player. I would trade Chad quite easily. First of all, Chad's first year was not as good as Henry's, so give Henry time and I think he'll be just as good. Second, CP probably has chemistry with all the recievers not just Chad. Finally, if you are offered 3 first day picks for Chad you have got to take it. 4 picks in the first 2 rounds, and 3 in the third (with the Washington deal). We're looking at 7 first day picks. We could build an entire defense. I know people are going to respond by "Your so F***ing stupid, get off the board." But please tell me why I am so stupid because I could go to another team's board if I would like to learn of my own ignorance. Quote
schroomytunes Posted January 22, 2006 Report Posted January 22, 2006 I agree BUCK! If we could get a 1st and 2nd for CJ, then by all means you do it, but IMO if those picks are in the bottom third of the round then I say NO! I trade him only if I get in the top ten of both rounds. For example: if we trade CJ to the Seahawks then we get the #29th and the 63rd to me thats not attractive enough, on the other hand if we trade him to the NYJ then we get the 4th and 36th to me that's a no brainer! I pull the trigger. Quote
