If you think about it guys that would come in on guys like Kitna and hit their thigh or waist are more likely to hit Palmer's knee's. The only thing I can think of is more shotgun formations. What the hell is the point of a knee brace if it doesn't protect the knee. All signs point to a recovery.

What's the point of wearing a helmet? Every once in a while you see a guy knocked out or come out of a game with a concussion. It obviously didn't protect the guy's head. So why bother wearing one?

Actually, the Houston doctor said the brace prevented his knee from being dislocated.

Paulos operated on only the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) and medial collateral ligament (MCL) in Palmer's left knee, injured Sunday on the Bengals' second offensive play. Palmer was hit in the knee by Steelers defensive end Kimo von Oelhoffen after delivering his first pass of the game, a 31-17 Bengals' loss in the AFC playoffs.

The knee was not dislocated because Palmer was wearing a brace. He strained ligaments in his left knee in Game 13 of the 2004 season.

C'mon now.

Hey, dude, just trying to make a point. I think we can all agree that helmets have saved lots of injuries over the years, but there are times when the helmet hasn't been enough. In the same way, Carson's knee brace has saved his knee several times this season, but we've never noticed because he'd just get back up and keep going. Sunday was a different story where the brace wasn't enough, but that's no reason to say that the brace is worthless.

Yes, a knee brace is used for protection, but the protection is against the typical planting, twisting, and turning motions you have during a typical football game or other sporting event. The brace isn't meant to withstand a hard impact directly to the knee, especially from a big ol' lineman or defensive end. A couple years ago, one of my soccer teammates had a nice knee brace and played with it without incident for a long time, but on one freak play the brace was shattered right in front of us. His knee was reinjured, but it was much better than what it would have been had he had no brace whatsoever.

Cross dresser, have you lost your mind? Palmer could have stood 5'3" and his knee still would have blown due to being hit...at ground level....on the leg that was planted due to his throwing motion.

Madness.

I told you, he's not a cross dresser, he's a transexual transvetite from transylvania!

I personally find a connection with 2 years ending the same way with the same type of hits.

Well, the common factor was falling defensive lineman crashing into his plant leg. It sucks, but what does that type of hit have to do with how tall Palmer is?
