dgrace4whodey
I heard from C. Mortensen then the ESPN crew talked alittle about this. But they are saying Leinarts elbow has some question marks on his arm strength. What I am leading to here is, if he drops like Rogers dropped last year, do we think about taking him if Kitna is gone and Palmer rehab is prolonged into the season? Just a topic to discussGet Well CPHad ACL and Meniscus recon this past April, I feel your pain.
kingwilly
Leinart will be gone in the first 3, even if he had a rubber elbow. If Kitna goes, one that intrigues me is Marcus Vick. We could probably get him in the 4th...1st - S (Lanrdy/Huff?)2nd - TE (Byrd)3rd - DT (Bunkley)4th - QB (Marcus Vick)5th - CB ?6th - T7th - DT
The_Next_Big_Thing
Vick doesn't fit our scheme at all. Also, please remove any thoughts of drafting a tight end on day one from your little head. IT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN SO LONG AS BRAT'S OFFENSE IS HERE.

If we think we have trouble with Henry I don't think we want to touch Vick. I vote for passing on him. Just my two cents worth.
kingwilly
I just think Vick is an interesting option. I think he has better "traditional" QB skills than his brother. I would bet he offers a better change of pace than Kitna and would be harder to compensate for if Palmer is to ever be felled again. I also think he will be there in the 4th or beyond.TNBT - I will bet you we take a TE on the first day. What kind of stakes would you like to lay? How about if i win, you buy me the TE's jersey from that first day? I will look good in a Marcedes Lewis jersey. If you win, doubtful, then I buy you the jersey of the player of your choice from the draft?
Stripes
If we do take a quarterback, it'll probably be some kid that none of us knows anything about a la Casey Bramlet. I am pretty sure Kitna will still be around here next year anyways.

kingwilly
I think Kitna walks. he will get good money somewhere like AZ, SF, NYJ, NYG, MIA....he is a good soldier but at this point will probably take the ching. who could blame him.FA's may be another option. I'm not enamored with anyone out there in particular but there is something to be said for the experience that a Kinta or other offers. There's no denying the fact that Kitna is now worth more to the Bengals than he was before the Bengals ran their 2nd offensive play of the last game. But it's just as true that Kitna never actually wanting out of Cincy in the first place. He just wanted a chance to play again, and as much as it pains me to say it....his future here is more certain now than anywhere else in the NFL. bengalboomer7
Question ?If you do something like transition tag Kitna, Do you pay him top ten starting QB's or backup QB'sHe's definitely worth top ten backup moneyNo Vick, No NO NO NOOOOOOO, Please GOD NOOOOOOOOGet it Like the a la Casey Bramlet route.I wouls prefer not, but depending on how Kit works, I'm won't get too hyped if they use a first day pick(not first round, first DAY)

Also in FA I think I've seen McCown, Warner, and Kerry Collins being available. Any of em have better arms and "bigger" hands than Kitna and would be a decent fit til Carson is healthy.Marvin

I doubt we go safety in the 1st, I just don't see a Troy Palamalu out there worth the pick.

ArmyBengal
Vick gets drafted first day based on potential alone (look at Clarett) and someone will take a chance. Won't be the Bengals though... Anything short of Lienart dying = him going to New Orleans IMHO... Carson stated Kitna is his #1 concern to resign and that is enough for me. If Carson wants him back, then we should makes all attempts to do so... Personally, I could care less if he returns. I think very little of Kitna as a "player" and think his skills are garbage. If he is here to mentor Carson, then hire him as a QB coach... He's not worth the money to tag him and I can't see him in any other role in another organization than to mentor some other youngster coming up in the league. Can't see him starting anywhere...WHODEY !!!
redsbengalsbucks
1. DT run stopper2. SS run stopper with some coverage skills3. CB speedster4. T Willie is no young pup5. RB speedster for backup of Rudi and Perry6. DT our biggest needTE would be a waste of a pick, save the money and find a good blocking TE college free agent to team with Kelly. Slowbo and Blewit are both gone FA.
w8th
Yeah. I want to use a 4th round pick on a troubled rookie QB that , if used, would give me close to zero chance of winning games until Palmer is healthy. They need a veteran backup to fill in. Hopefully Kitna.

Hopefully Kitna.Forget about A. Brooks he will sign with someone to become a permanent starter like the JetsIf we need to get a backup for 1/2-3/4 of the season and Kitna is gone here is my list1. K Warner, with experience and multiple experience receivers and rb, he can thrive for a while2. If Titans sign somebody and Volek wants out, try to get him3. Collins if he is willing to become a backup4. Trent Dilfer5. Brian Griese if he is willingto become a backupTruthfully this list is hard to come up with, and can be erased if Kit stays and somehow can improve himself some.
