Things change fo everyone not just us. I will not write next year off until we are officially out of it. Perhaps with some defensive upgrades we will not need this team to score 30 every week to win the game.
ShulaSteakhouse
It's like they took the best teams out of every division and pitted them against the Bengals.Seriously that is one of the toughest schedules on paper I've ever seen in my life. And right now we have a defense that just gave up 31 points a game over the last 8 weeks.Marvin has his work cut out for him. rizzy
we are dead?umm probably notwe were good this year, next year we will be great. now that we know our offense is set we can work on the defense and I think the defense will be very good next season
Turi
You can't gauge what next years teams will be like now anyway. There's always too many surprises and dark horses.

We get Indy and New England since we won our division. We play the AFC West with Denver, SD and KC and the NFC South with Carolina, TB and Atlanta as part of the schedule rotation. Plus we play our division. Pittsbugh also plays this schedule with the exception of Miami instead of NE and Jacksonville instead of Indy. walzav29
Name a guy in the history of football that recovered from a torn ACL and MCL in 6 months? I know I'm irritating, it's just because I'm miserable, and I'm bummed.

oldschooler
I can`t believe the Offseason isn`t even 1 day oldand you already have the Bengals "dead" for next season ?! Everyone looks tougher in the Off-season.That`s 9 months away. Alot can and willhappen between now and then.I don`t care who the Bengals have to play. This team will be better than a 9-7 team. The Bengals are one of the top 5 teams with the most cap space heading into '06.You have to give Marvin another draftand an Offseason where quality FreeAgents will "actually" want to come here.Palmer will be fine and he will come back better than ever.So please step away from the ledge. And untie the noose.Oh second thought...go ahead and jump. I know I'm irritating, it's just because I'm miserable, and I'm bummed. Anybody know what McGahee's recovery time was?To me, that's an unfair assessment. The differences in positions is too vast. McGahee uses his knees way more, cutting back, getting hit each play, etc..
ShulaSteakhouse
Enquirer just released a confusing story saying Palmer's injury is "worse than originally thought," and that Palmer is "bummed." They are supposed to officially address it this morning in a press conference. The July mini-camp timtable was still referenced though. Torn MCL and ACL is a fact of course.I am just going to take some time off from football for a while as I'm tired of the Bengals' disappointment - had enough for two lifetimes already.I need a break. It's just too depressing, every year same s**t, we are just cursed, need to focus on some happier things in life than the Bengals right now...just exhausted from this stuff. eclipse99t
I'm pretty sure it took McGahee a full year to heal...he got hurt very early January during the Fiesta Bowl, was drafted by the Bills, and did not even step onto the playing field. Apparently he would have been good to go in the playoffs, so a full year. But that's for a running back- he needs to be absolutely 100% becuase of what they're expected to do, and when they get hit so often down low. Palmer will need probably 9 months or so to get back to 100%, so I doubt he'll take a snap in the preseason, and he'll probably miss the first 3-4 games. Just hope we don't play the toughest teams in those first games, or we'll be off to a bad start with Kitna or whoever.
dave
Even if Palmer returns in time for next year, it's a shame that he'll miss an off-season of workouts because of rehab. And it's a bummer that they'll likely end up putting more money into a backup QB than they might've if Palmer wasn't hurt. This sucks. oldschooler
McGahee was back in 10 months. He got hurt in January...and was on the football fieldin October. BUT...his injury was far more severe and he plays a totallydifferent position.

blurple thunder
Name a guy in the history of football that recovered from a torn ACL and MCL in 6 months? I know I'm irritating, it's just because I'm miserable, and I'm bummed.Isn't that same type of injury Rod Woodson suffered and made it back to play the SB with the Steelers the same season he suffered the injury?Relax on the schedule. It's to tough to say one way or the other. The division winner always gets the tougher games. This year the Steelers had to play NE and travel to SD and Indy while Cincy played the Bills, had Indy at home and played KC.
Kirkendall
On the bright side, the injury forces Carson on the couch in front of his GIGANTIC big screen TV watching the other more established playoff teams. Now he can, if he wants, work on the game behind the game. We know his phyiscal gifts, now he can study film, watch the remaining playoff teams and have a stronger mental focus. There's always a bright side to everything... The_Next_Big_Thing
By the way, remember the same asshats who are saying we are done this year were saying the same last year when it was evident we would have to play Minnesota, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Green Bay, Indianapolis, Detroit, Buffalo, and Kansas City!11-5! You can never tell about a sched from one year to the next. Do you think those teams like to see the Bengals on THEIR sched??? DET is the biggest example. We thought that would be a tough game when the sched came out...How to handle all of those receivers and Kevin Jones. Oh and MINN with that awesome defense. Brett Favre on the sched. Oh no! HELLO!Carson will be relentless in his preparation/rehab for next season. The comparison to McGahee is not really a good one. I think McGahee was ready long before he saw the field anyway because of Travis Henry's presence. DEEP BREATH! And no more talk about Next year we're dead! That's just plain stupid. Don't be a p***y!Who-Dey!
walzav29
Is there any way I can donate my knee? Will that speed up the process? How about stem cell research? Anything it takes to get him ready by Sept.! Sept gives him 8 months. He doesn't rely on his legs. Why aren't they operating right now? He should already be healing! Where's the urgency!!!!!!!!
