cincy9275 Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 first off let me say i am very happy with the job he has done. now what i don't like is he has to have a little more balls like go for it a little more on 4th down. and get these young player some more playing time like fanane askew and smith if these guy are not ready to play then why waste a spot on them and stop picking up these lower teared former players . and do a better job at getting some of the top f/a to come play here and get better position coaches . now i like his demeanor and his attitude love the way he drafts . and they way he get in these guys butts when they do wrong . overall a very very good young coach. Stripes Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 The main issue here would seem to be the few free agents he has brought into the mix. When he has brought in washed up players, it has worked successfully in some cases, the most evident being in Deltha O'Neal. It is difficult to attract other players to a franchise that hasn't seen a playoff game in 15 years. Now that drought it over, and any knowlegeable football player would see a talented young team in Cincinnati, and of course the snazziest uniforms available. Quote
walzav29 Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 I know the secondary is getting there, although I never want to see Ohalate ever again. The line backers are set. All we need now is the defensive line fixed. I still wish the Bengals would have drafted Vince Woolfork. Quote
cover2 Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Curious to see what happens to the coaching staff? Quote
DesperateDerelict Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Curious to see what happens to the coaching staff? Our two weakest areas . . . TE and DL . . . showed NO marked improvement through the course of the year. I realize they're Marvin's long-time friends, but I hope we say "SAYANORRO & GOOD RIDDANCE" TO THE HAYES BROTHERS!!! Quote

All we need now is the defensive line fixed. I still wish the Bengals would have drafted Vince Woolfork. In fairness, Ohalete was probably the best available at the time, just so happened that the Bengals got hit hardest with injury at the position they were weakest (safety). That said, Marvin better do something over the offseason to ensure that no one of Ohalete's caliber ever starts as many games as he did.LB are set, though I have to say that after nearly 10 years in the league I can't believe Simmons still can't read a screen, but I'm just bitter now I imagine. Pollack is finally starting to look like the guy we all wanted to see, and he'll actually be in CAMP next year.DL needs some serious help. We need a real plugger in the middle. Quote
EyeoftheTiger Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 IF the DL gets improved we can go further than we did this year ,because the O has lots of ability. Quote
CBin2k7 Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 I think the secondary could use an upgrade in speed. Tory James and Keiwan Ratliff are fairly slow. But I am looking forward to this draft, and I do think the d-line coach needs to go. Quote
