The_Next_Big_Thing
Actually the Bengals themselves have been hushed since last week.
HoosierCat
There was a note at the bottom of one of Hobson's stories in the last day or two citing CBS sportsline as saying that the Bengals appeared "loose and relaxed" while the Steelers were "quite and subdued." That could mean any number of things, from the Bengals not taking the game seriously enough to the Steelers hitting a wall after pushing hard for four straight weeks just to squeeze in as a wild card. Personally I took it as a good sign.
xjjeep90
I heard that CJ had a self-imposed 'gag order' on himself and tried to get Marvin to play up to the media that he was the one who told CJ to be quiet during this week. Yeah, I don't understand this at all. Palmer was on Jim Rome (radio) and Dan Patrick (radio) this week. He obviously doesn't know what he's talking about. Normally I like Trey. derekshank
Trey is just talking about stuff he's heard secondhand. The first Steelers game, Marvin had them quiet, and everyone thought they were too uptight, and that was one reason they lost. When the media heard Chad blame Marvin for his self-imposed gag orger they assumed he was doing it again. But it is these asshats that don't pay attention to press conferences that Marvin does and then go on shows like Around the Horn and say that the Bengals are too tight.I don't blame ESPN as an organization. They do have some very good NFL analysts working for them... (Mort, Jaws, even Clayton sometimes). The problem is these guys who try to be jacks of all trades on PTI and other shows that spread poor information. What can you expect? They are the ENTERTAINMENT first sports second network.
