jjakq27 Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 COURT DATE: Bengals rookie wide receiver Chris Henry has a court date at 8:30 a.m. today in Kenton District Court on traffic charges. He was stopped Nov. 2 on Interstate 75 southbound near Erlanger and cited for speeding, failing to produce proof of insurance, an expired temporary tag and an expired driver's license.Henry faces a second date Jan. 13 in Kenton District Court on his arrest Dec. 15 in Covington for marijuana possession.http://news.enquirer.com/apps/pbcs.dll/art.../512290305/1066 Quote
ShulaSteakhouse Posted December 29, 2005 Report Posted December 29, 2005 He got two of the charges removed and as mentioned above is due back in court on 1/13/06 for the posession charge. So if he misses any games due to league suspension, it'll be next season I suppose. Quote
buck3y3d Posted December 30, 2005 Report Posted December 30, 2005 Why did the NFL not drug test Henry the next day? Doesn't make the most sense to test players after they're caught for possession? I don't want Henry suspended, but this just seemed logical to me. Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted December 30, 2005 Report Posted December 30, 2005 Why did the NFL not drug test Henry the next day? Doesn't make the most sense to test players after they're caught for possession? I don't want Henry suspended, but this just seemed logical to me.Quite simply because the agreement with the NFLPA is for RANDOM testing unless a player is convicted of a crime. They can't show up without it being random to test a player unless he's already convicted. Now, will the tests be put on him the next time they show up at PBS to do some testing? Most likely. Can they, according to contracts with the NFLPA, schedule a visit to test him in particular? No. Quote
bengalindian Posted December 30, 2005 Report Posted December 30, 2005 If he misses a game or more, could it be the last two playoff games and perhaps the Super Bowl? Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted December 30, 2005 Report Posted December 30, 2005 First of all, the league cannot suspend him until he goes to court on the drug charge. Quote
AMC Posted December 30, 2005 Report Posted December 30, 2005 At least he got caught with the goods! Alot better and straight up than being caught with the Whizinator.... I see a slap on the wrist by the courts... Quote

ShulaSteakhouse Posted December 30, 2005 Report Posted December 30, 2005 Just two of the traffic related charges were straightened out or dropped they said - they will have no bearing on his posession charge. If it's his first posession offense - he'll just get a fine. Once convicted the league I'm sure will put him in a program and test him regularly for a period of time. Hopefully he'll only get a game or two at the most as far as a suspension goes, and take into account Marvin deactivating him against the Lions. Quote

And be considered one of his suspended games if indeed he is suspended???probably not....They will view that as a "team" thing, not a league thing.... Quote
