It doesn't matter if it's Jacksonville or Pittsburgh. It really doesn't. For that matter, it doesn't matter if we go up against New England or Indy. Every game is a game, plain and simple.

Pittsburgh red hot? Red not!

They beat Cleveland, so what? We beat Cleveland too. Twice in fact.

They beat Minnesota, so what? We beat them too. When we did it, they sucked. When Pittsburgh beats them it makes Pittsburgh "red hot"?

They beat Chicago, so what? We beat them too, and once again, when we did it, it was because they were a bad team. Hell, Chicago even lost to Cleveland. The AFC North just plain OWNS the NFC North. Chicago only managed to beat Baltimore in our division, and they TRIED to lose that one too. Yes, Chicago has a good defense, but they have NO OFFENSE AT ALL.

Oh, and before that, we beat them despite failing to score points off our 4 turnovers.

Indy creamed them. This "team" with the supposed greatest current QB and zero loss playoff has become the biggest thorn in our side since i can remember.

If we were to beat cincy then lose to the Colts ... would that be better than going into New England and giving them their first ever Playoff loss ... AT HOME then losing to the Colts?

I personally feel that we are going to the Super Bowl, which means we will beat all comers on the road, but the fact that my respectful hatred for the Patriots is 1000 times greater than that of our own division (since no one in our division consistently beats us) .. means that i feel that any matchup with Cincy should be a given win.

I don't believe in psyche ... all players should have the goal to win their games and should not have a "mental edge" one way or the other. THAT DOESNT MEAN that the Players don't. They have mental block when it comes to the Patriots ... hence all of the "excuses" (or realistically reasoned REASONS) from Steeler fan/player/coaches for our current string of Losses to the Patriots. I can not imagine the immense confidence the players would have when we sting the Pats ... then go into Indy with years of failure chips on our shoulder facing a team that has been "GIVEN" the SB trophy already.

We have lingered in playoff murk for years while these teams have drafted high and gotten great players ... or gotten injured starters giving way to hidden HOFers. The Steelers have had the worst luck/calls/untimely coaching ... pretty much the worst of everything while building upon four previous rings.

We deserve our fates but we need to earn this Super Bowl. Smashing the Pats would earn us a trip to Indy. Indy's ultimate fall would earn us a chance at redemption for 1998 and Bill Romanowsky's head slapping, steroid induced bitchreal. A eventual win over the Donkeys would earn my respect for a beleagured coach, organization, and team of men that has failed more than not in recent memory.

It's all bad ... No SB for my Steelers, and my Niner's got the first pick.

BALTIMORE beat them.

So, what's so damned hot about the Steelers? Why is it that the beat the same teams we beat and they are red hot and we had a "soft schedule"?

Agreed! I say bring whoever!

Everytime I here ShulaSteakhouse coment on here it makes me realize how much he does not know. I don't know how everyone else feels but a first round win isn't that important to me unless we win in round two. I think our best bet is to play pissburgh in round one, and then get denver in round two. We need to get on a roll and have alot of confidence going into Indy. I don't care who we play so long as we don't play indy until the Championship game. Thatis the only thing I hope for.

Everytime I here (BTW it is hear) GROIIIDayton coment (BTW it is comment) on here it makes me realize how much he does not know. If we get the 3 seed, then yes we would face Denver in round 2. If we get the 4 seed and play Jacksonville we could still get Denver in round 2. The playoffs realign after every round, so high seed plays low seed. Why not trust that Pittsburgh beats New England and we still get to go to Denver?

Bring anyone on..

This aint Dad's Bungles anymore...

If a fan doesnt think they can beat any of the playoffs team then they can watch figure skating or something..

The Bengals can beat anyone or lose to anyone so lets bring on our arch rivals and get it on! You all know how exciting that game is and a victory over the stools is damn near as good as winning the big game..I said is damn near! I want to beat the Steelers again in the worst way especially at PBS in front of the whole damn nation......

Call me stupid, but I agree. I understand the logic of of some people wanting to play J'ville instead instead of the Squeelers, but I truly believe that we can beat those beeyotch's in our house this time. I don't know, maybe my hatred for them and their punk-@$$ fans is clouding my judgement. :bengal:

Yeah, but wouldn't it be even sweeter if the playted them farther on down the line, like say the AFC Championship game? Like the Bengals, the Steelers seem to play better ball on the road. They can upset some people at their place.

Anyway, the odds makers aren't expecting the Bengals to put up much of a fight against KC. No way should they be a 7.5 point favorite over Cincy, unless we are playing some 2nd stringers. I think you will see that number drop a couple of points if SD beats Dever, who will be resting several starters.

"For some reason, people in Cincinnati have an inferiority complex. They shouldn't have it. We'll be all right. They're a good team. We're a good team. When you start from scratch and those teams are left standing there -- the 6 in the AFC and the 6 in the NFC -- that's what it's all about. And then you go from there. Pretty soon this city will get accustomed to that, and that's my job. Hopefully, we'll get them accustomed to that. It doesn’t matter who you play. It doesn't matter if we were 0-2 or 2-0 against them. Whoever we play, we're going to start from scratch just like they are."

First I've seen or heard of this.

B) The people in Cincinnati don't have an inferiority complex. That would imply an IMAGINED sense of inadequacy. The fact is that for over 10 years our team was inadequate and it was not all in our heads. Coach Lewis needs to be cut some slack because he didn't go through that with us. Just as earlier in his tenure when he stated that the fans had nothing " invested " in the team and was roundly ( and correctly ) criticized for saying so.

So far this year the team has had opportunities to make " statements " against the Stillers at PBS and didn't ... and again against Beffalow ( again at PBS ) .... and didn't. Now ... that's 0 for 2 & That's inadequate and not imagined. Don't lay 2 eggs at home and then tell the people who complain about it that the problem is with THEM and not the way the team is playing.

The coach has also said that " if you don't want people saying the team is a loser then you just have to start winning that's all" . That was sound advice then ...... and now.
