derekshank Posted December 18, 2005 Report Posted December 18, 2005 I live in Indiana, and I was in a gas station earlier today, and saw something I couldn't believe. They are already selling Colts Superbowl XL merchandise. Does anyone else see this as a bit presumptuous?Chad is usually seen as arrogant for believing that his team can make it to the superbowl... so what is this? I hope they lose in playoffs so bad. PMThor Posted December 18, 2005 Report Posted December 18, 2005 They are undefeated. It isn't that presumputious if you think about it. Hell, we probably will do the same thing next year. Quote
derekshank Posted December 18, 2005 Author Report Posted December 18, 2005 You don't find selling suberbowl merchandise for your franchise in week 14 presumptious? We're talking about a QB that has never won a big game in his career (Tennessee won it's title the year after he left) and a coach that has never made it past the championship game... despite multimple attempts (His Bucs won the superbowl the year after he was fired). But because they are the best team in the regular season... they can't lose in the playoffs. Right Roethlisberger? Quote

LB51 Posted December 18, 2005 Report Posted December 18, 2005 Considering that Manning and company have yet to win a big game in January, I think it's a little soon to printing SB material. I believe that thay are gonna be there, but afterall, this is the NFL. That "Any Given Sunday" cliche is not BS. Quote
cincy9275 Posted December 18, 2005 Report Posted December 18, 2005 the colts better watch out for the patriots they are really playing well right now . and i think the colts will choke manning has never been able to win the big games in the playoffs or in college. he is a choke thats why boomer called him this era's version of dan marino. impressive numbers but just can't get it done . I think some of that may be driven by the NFL. I am guesing that it is just like the playoff tickets. It's all dictated by them and they are probably doing it in the markets of the playoff probables.I'll bet in a week or so we might see some Bengals gear with the Super Bowl logos as well. Quote
WhoDey42 Posted December 18, 2005 Report Posted December 18, 2005 You should've bought some of that. That might be worth some money...or at least a good laugh after the Bengals beat the Colts in the playoffs Quote

NFL marketing is everywhere, just another buck to be made. Quote
NYBengalfan Posted December 18, 2005 Report Posted December 18, 2005 Hell, I want the Colts to go 16-0. Why???1. Peyton has never won "the big game"2. Nobody will expect us to get to the superbowl. Leaving us with nothing to lose, other than the game.3. All of the pressure is on the Colts, everyone is watching them. Quote
andybren Posted December 18, 2005 Report Posted December 18, 2005 A couple of weeks ago, Dan Patrick was talking on his radio show about the extra crowd noise the Colts were alleged piping into the RCA Dome...an Indy fan calls in to complain, saying that he'd never heard a Super Bowl winner get such poor treatment. Patrick was like 'the Colts haven't won the Super Bowl'. The homer was absolutely indignant: "well, obviously we're going to!" Priceless. It will be nice to beat them in the conference championship. He was talkin about how the guy who reported it (Ed Warder?) was a coward and he sucked. I don't know where he gets that the Colts are disrespected, thats all any NFL anaylist is talking about these days. Quote
