I will be so juiced up on the enticing effects of playoff football (aka the forbidden fruit) I don't care who we play!

Each possible opponent has a good story line...

It's just going to be weird to be in the playoffs.

It's a time to reflect back and say to yourself "What have I done the past 15 years". It's interesting because in 1990 I graduated from high school, so it's a good point of reference.

Let's see, went to UC got a Bachelor's....Went to Tennessee got a Master's...Went to Univ. of South Florida got a PhD..now I'm doing a post-doc fellowship at the Univ. of Amsterdam...and I'll be back in Tampa the end of February...drank alot of beer, bought 2 trucks in that time. had a few girlfriends, bought alot of guitars...Hmmmm....

All in all, with that said, 1990 seems like it was eons ago!!!!!!! Bengals in the playoffs, indeed the forbidden fruit...

I think the Bengals would not want to play the Chiefs two weeks in a row. The Chargers have LT but the Chiefs running game is better because of their o-line, and they have a good short passing game. I really don't care who we play as long as we make the playoffs.

I hope we play Pitt. But hey they are going to have to win the Wild Card week before they meet us in the Bye round.

And San Diego, are pretty much out of it. And if they loose this weekend(and they will) they will be completely out of it.

From most like to play (best matchup for us) to least like to play (worst matchup for us). This includes all potential playoff teams, not just who we may face in the 1st round.

1. KC - 2x better at home.

2. Jags - Bengals should have beat them the first time with Byron. He may not be back. They have been slipping since before he went out.

3. Pitt - I believe they are the least talented of the field, but I put them at 3 due to the mental aspect of having to beat them again after the big win in Pittsburgh.

4. Pats - They are getting healthier, which is scary. Brady has never lost a playoff game.

5. Denver - On fire early, but Jake the Snake is coming back to earth a bit. Still a very good team with a strong ex-Brown DL and great running game per usual.

6. SD - We couldn't contain Fred Taylor, it scares me what LT may do. Gates is also a terrible matchup, since for some reason we can not cover TE's.

7. Colts - Although the Bengals match up pretty well with them they are still really good. I think they would least like to play us as well.

no the playoffs go

1st (Colts) gets bye and winner of

4th vs. 5th

2nd gets bye and winner of

3rd vs. 6th

yeah i would def like us to play the jags again and whoop up. the whole steelers thing really scares me. the chargers aren't gonna make the playoffs.

Actually, I think that the #1 Seed, the Colts, will play the worst seed. Not necessarily the winner of the 4-5 game.

The current bracket:

The only way we would play the Jags in the WC round would be if Pitt, KC or SD ends up with a better record than Jax, and given the Jags' powderpuff sked finishing out the year (SF in Jax this week, a trip to Houston after, then a final homestand vs. Tenn) that's extremely unlikely.

Depending on how the last couple weeks go, the Bengals may be in a position to choose their WC opponent come week 17...but we'll see.

The correct answer is Denver. If we play the Broncos with our first playoff game, it means that we got the 1st round bye, and are hosting Denver in Cincy.

Meanwhile, NE would probably be going to Indy with a chance to upset them (Just like the good old days)... and we would get the AFC championship game in our house.

least want to play, steelers. i wouldnt mind playing chiefs or chargers. both of their defenses are suspect, and i feel our offense can overpower theirs.

San Francisco....

But seriously, come playoff time I don't care who we play...No game will be easy...Kinda like to have the Steelers again though...Just for the hell of it!

I do not want the Steelers. That would mean we ended up as the #3 seed.

2 mins. left and it looks like KC will fall to the Giants.

If the Steelers beat Minny tomorrow, that all but nails down a Cincy-Pitt rematch @ PBS on wild card weekend -- assuming Denver doesn't falter and we end up the 3rd seed.

I repeat: I ain't a-skeered. :bengal: Bring on the Tin Foilers!
