Dadraftnick Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 Yes I know that we won. I am not crying over spilt milk.I just want to set the record straightI think the pass play that was reversed on instant replay was wrong it looked to me like the ball came out only AFTER Chads knee had touched the turf. I think the ref only looked to see if the ball came out and reversed the play on that basis. But according to rules once his knee touched the runner was down, the catch complete.I do have to say that the refs have better than they were earlier in the year and than they have been in years past.I am interested if anyone else saw the play that way..... or am I wrong? JPW Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 I looked at it frame by frame and it was very close but I think that youi are right. He caught the ball made a move and it looked like his knee was down before the ball came out.IIRC in the open field the receiver does not have to still be holding on to the ball as he hit the ground if he was already down. But whatever ... dcbengal1 Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 Has there been an instant replay that HASN't been reversed against the Bengals this year? Quote
membengal Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 You have to possess and control the ball all the way to the ground on a catch. A knee hitting down is not sufficient if the ball jars loose on impact. It was the right call. CJ needs to make that catch. It's that simple. Quote
Ripper Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 I don't think that he caught the ball. It came out before he hit the ground. Unfortunatly. Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 And the winner is.........Membengal!!! Congratulations, tell the man what's he's wonYou gotta have possesion the whole time and Chad clearly did not Quote
