GROIIIDayton
KC @ #3CINJAX @ #4NECIN @ #2DENVERJAX @ #1COLTSJAX @ CINCINCINNATI BACK TO DETROIT.I almost hope Indy beats Jax this week and then has to try to beat them three times in one season. That is hard for any team and they always play Indy tough.

Stripes
I hope to the dear Lord we get a first round bye. The possibility of facing the Steelers a third time, or even worse the Chargers, in the first round doesn't put a smile on my face.

I doubt that they will make the playoffs. Besides, I think that the Bengals would match up better against the Chargers then the Steelers for a W. I think that Jacksonville would be the scariest matchup for you guys if they some how fell to the last wild card spot.
bengalindian
I think the Bengals could beat any team in the AFC. They are on a roll, and I have a feeling that Carson is going to be something special in the playoffs.
Stripes
I think the Bengals could beat any team in the AFC. I agree, this held true after the 1988 season too. Problem was that we couldn't handle the NFC team! This year that shouldn't be an issue.

I also think that the Steelers will beat the Bengals if they face them in the playoffs. Defense becomes a much bigger factor in the playoffs. Look at how Indy has fallen before the big game. GROIIIDayton
San Deigos schedule: (8-4)Miami at San Diego W San Diego at Indianapolis LSan Diego at Kansas City WDenver at San Diego WThis would make them (11-5)Kansas City schedule: (8-4)Kansas City at Dallas LKansas City at N.Y. Giants WSan Diego at Kansas City LCincinnati at Kansas City LThis would make them (9-7)That is a hell of a schedule and if they lose to Dallas I think they might just give up. I was just going with who was in if the season ended today I should have taken some other things into consideration.Pissburgh schedule: (7-5)Chicago at Pittsburgh LPittsburgh at Minnesota WPittsburgh at Cleveland WDetroit at Pittsburgh WThat would make them (10-6)Sorry pissburgh maybe next year, but hopefully not you p*ssies.Denver Schedule: (9-3)Baltimore at Denver WDenver at Buffalo WOakland at Denver WDenver at San Diego LThat would make them (12-4)Denver chokes at the end of the season a lot and Jake Plumber is begining to show his true colors as of late. I wouldn't be suprised to see Buffalo, Oakland, or maybe even the Ravens help Cincy out by knocking them off. I also don't think the bengals will need anything but the Chargers to beat them though.CINCINNATI Schedule: (9-3)Cleveland at Cincinnati WCincinnati at Detroit WBuffalo at Cincinnati WCincinnati at Kansas City WI think home field advantage is likely. KC will be out of it by the time we play them and I don't think they are going to be that up for helping Denver get home field and a bye. Just a hunch. INDY #1 JAX @ INDYJax #5 @ NE #4SAN #6 @ #3 Denver JAX @ CINCY CINCY against who cares we are in the SB. We can beat any NFC team. SAN @ CINCYCINCY #2KC @ #3CINJAX @ #4NECIN @ #2DENVERJAX @ #1COLTSJAX @ CINTHE STEELERS ARE NOT MAKING THE PLAYOFFS

I think that Jacksonville would be the scariest matchup for you guys if they some how fell to the last wild card spot.I couldn't disagree more ...I would rate it like this :Jags = a rather easy win for the BengalsChargers = a hard match up for the BengalsSteelers = some where in between the other twoI also think that KC is the team with the tough schedule ahead of them at this point, I don't think they will make it in.That leaves San Diego one game up on the Steelers with the Steelers having the tie breaker.Every game is BIG for all these teams now including the Bengals.A first round bye would be a big play-off boost, a week to rest and no road trip to Denver would both help our chances. I guess you should feel this way. Honestly, playoff game or not, the only teams in the AFC that scare me in the least are the Colts and Chargers. We are a better team than Jacksonville, despite the loss earlier this year. I think we could handle the Steelers again too.Our defense has played well this year, except for two very big factors. We've struggled to stop the run, and we've been completely unable to cover a tight end whatsoever (Ifeanyi Ohalete replaced Madieu Williams, and uhhh... yuck). The Chargers could exploit this better than any team, with Tomlinson and Gates. The Colts would be able to exploit us as well, as signified by their 45 points in our house (2 touchdowns and over 100 yards for Dallas Clark). The reason we think we'll be able to hang with these guys nonetheless is that our offense has truly become an NFL power. Carson Palmer is a legitimate top 3 quarterback in this league, and the supporting cast is second only to the Colts themselves. Even a mediocre game from the defense could be enough. That scene may change in the playoffs, but there is a limit to the phenomenon. Offense can win big games if there is enough of it (and if the opposing defenses are nothing to be worried about, as is the case this year... No Patriot problems).
