Bengals are dying to beat us and I just want to say that I respect your team a lot. Steelers are in huge trouble and I think Bengals do great and beat us in the Burgh. I can see CJ blowin his nose on our Terrible Towel and just doing something hilarious...

Steelers will lose and I'm here to admit it!!

Can it be? A Steeler fan that I can dialogue with about football? I suppose I will always hold out hope ... but I do it VERY CAUTIOUSLY! In any case, I hope you are correct, of course. I'm surely not overly confident, but quietly so. Pointing to another thread on this board, I look to see the Bengals finally breakout against another AFC North bully. Carson's first game against the Ravens sucked, but the 3 since then have been great. It surely has taken longer against the Steelers (3 games ... 3 losses), but I look for the same thing this week ... a breakout. I'm hoping for 31 points. This game could surely go either way. I would never say that the Steelers couldn't win this handily. They seem to find a way sometimes. But I sit here in my Pittsburgh home hoping and expecting for a 31-22 victory. What a Christmas it would be!

(thanks for being a sane Steeler fan ... I'm glad they're out there!)

Yo, Chill with that. Steel Legends is ok in my book, he is a proud fan. I can tell by chatting with him over at NFLsmackdown. Just a little depressed right now.

Give it up to the Bengals already. They have worked very hard to put themselves in this position and they haven't been hit with injuries in key areas (QB, OT, etc) This team is focused and they haven't slipped much all year.

The Steelers are in big trouble and they can't just play defense all day without being able to score on offense. We can't do much with a rookie LT in Essex and our offensive line is just not as dominate.

Ben is hurting again and without any quality blocking he is going to be pressured all day. Marv Lewis is a great coach and he knows defense so you know that he's sending the troops to blitz Ben all day long, and until we stop it, I expect us to not stop the bleeding and go down hard here.

I know I know it just doesn't sound right but this is the Bengals time to take the AFCN!

:wacko::wacko::wacko:

Cut him some slack, he just realizes early what will be blatantly clear on Sunday at about 4:15 pm.

Surely not this from The Steel Leg Ends :(

Not the same guy who has deflated his share of Bengals fans of puffed out chests in their bets with him over Steelers-Bengals games that have led to may a Bungle sig posted on other sites like rabbit droppings.

Steelers ran into problems at the wrong time of the year. Usually around this time we are healthy and ready to go, however, the OL is one of the most important parts of the team, and it has prevented our offense from doing anything the past few weeks.

Unless Trai Essex can turn into Marvel Smith in just his 2nd start, Ben is going to get hit a lot and there goes the offense.

We likely miss the playoffs, however, we are still young and very good, if we can stay healthy, and that's the bottom line in this business.

I love how all us posters suddenly have loads of respect for the "logical" Steelers fan just because he sees the game going the same way we do. Don't get me wrong though, I'm glad for your post Steel Legends. You're alright in my book! B)

Congrats on the big AFCN with! You guys played well enough to win and turnovers decided this one.

Congratualtions long, long, long overdue as there's been obviously very little for a Steelers fan to congratualte Bengals fans about until now.

I will say I thought, despite the picks, Big Ben showed he's got the talent to put the game on his back and launch the ball all game long if needed to get the Steelers in position for a win. Plus, his was a gutty effort.

The Steelers shot at the North may be all but gone this year and their playoffs chances in jeopardy, but it's pretty clear Big Ben is gonna be a force for a long time and the Steelers-Bengals rivalry is gonna be all the better for it over the years.

Ben reminded me a of how Palmer played much of last season. Tons of big plays sandwiched around the occasional mental error...all of which produced outrageous stats but fell short in the way that counted most. The best example might be the pick Brian Simmons made as quite a few experts have noted that too much was being made of him tweaking his thumb on the prior play. Of utmost importance was the fact that Ben was throwing late into triple coverage, and he also made the mistake of forcing other passes that should have been thrown away. All in all he looked like a very talented QB who isn't ready to carry a team when forced to play in shootouts.

Steeler fans won't like to hear this but losing games like the one just played are the very things that taught Palmer how to play at the level he's reached. IMHO Ben has had it far too easy and has been slapped on the back too much by people who only saw his won/loss record as a starter. He became a local legend without having to win games based upon his own passing skills. Now with the Steelers running game struggling he has to beat teams with his arm and head, instead of simply managing the game or throwing into defenses stacked against the run, and the head isn't ready.
