Stripes Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 I think they'll do it wrong and take Leinart, but they gotta go for a lineman... or trade down. Quote
Kazkal Posted November 30, 2005 Author Report Posted November 30, 2005 You boozin', kazkal?Just tired when I made the post and sense you can't edit topics I was kinda SoL Quote
jjakq27 Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 They will trade the pick and trade back up to take Bush. However with the Jets and Packers lurked at 2-and-whatever, they are not guaranteed the first pick next year. Quote

bengalindian Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 Bush could very easily go #1. Definitely an impact player as soon as he puts on an NFL uniform. Plus, if Vince Young comes out, the Texans may not find a team to trade up with. Does anyone know off hand if Jordan Palmer is a junior or a senior? Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted November 30, 2005 Report Posted November 30, 2005 I can edit topics Kaz, what'd you want it to say? Quote

Matt Leinert will be the first pick. The last RB to go with the first pick was Ki-Jana Carter in 1995. There are too many able bodies that can be picked up later in the first round or lower. If Houston has the first pick, I do not think they will take Leinert unless they want to trade Carr and start over. If they want Bush, they do not need to take him with the first pick either. They can trade that pick to someone else that wants to select Leinert and then use some of the extra picks to move up to 2 or 3 to take Bush. Quote
San Antonio Bengal Posted December 2, 2005 Report Posted December 2, 2005 I'd be surprised if the Texans take Bush. They will only take Leinart if they give up on David Carr, which they may do or they may not. The organization is in a world of hurt right now and if they decide to wipe the slate clean, drafting Leinart would be my guess. If they decide to keep Carr, I have no clue who they'd take. I would trade down myself, but who knows what they'll do on draft day. Quote
jamesbrooks21 Posted December 3, 2005 Report Posted December 3, 2005 Does anyone know off hand if Jordan Palmer is a junior or a senior? He is a junior. It's scary how much Carson and Jordan look alike when he is sitting with his helmet off over on the sidelines. But I definitely like his size and the way he plays. I believe he could be very good in the NFL too. Quote

AMC Posted December 8, 2005 Report Posted December 8, 2005 Is there a pick in the draft where it can get you about 15 players???The texans need that one... Quote

Ripper Posted December 10, 2005 Report Posted December 10, 2005 Dominic Davis is a great running back but a player like Bush comes once every so often so there is no way that they won't take him. I think that the Texans need to cut there loss with David Carr. Thought he was horrible in college and any QB that has had to change his throwing style has never made it in the Pros. Feel bad for Dom Capers he is a hell of a coach that is getting delt a bad hand this year. He has had a tough schedule. Quote
Dan2330 Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 They need not only a O Lineman but also a Defense- Rank last against the Run. If they take Leiter they will have the same problems that Carr has- the sacks and hits. Best bet is to trade down, but got to wait and see where 49ers fall in- they are the best bet to trade up to take Bush. Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted December 12, 2005 Report Posted December 12, 2005 Houston should be trading down to get an olineman to someone like the Jets that need a running back badly. Quote
