Stripes Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 I predict that Pittsburgh and Denver change places, but the rest of that stays exactly the same for January. Quote
LolaMoon Posted November 17, 2005 Report Posted November 17, 2005 I agree... it is really too early to talk about playoff seeding. I like Tony Dungy's motto... "Division and AFC games count as double" Meaning that the most important games any team in the AFC will play in the regular season are those in their division and those in the AFC. That is 12 games that can decide where your team will fall in the end of the season. The only sure bet on making the playoffs.... is winning your divisions. Like right now... The Colts are 3 games up on the Jaguars... it sounds like a lot considering where all the other divisions are at... but, with seven games left... rest assured none of the players or coaches of the Colts want to lose that comfortable lead. Other divisions are not so lucky. New England is only one game ahead of the Bills... oh, I know you are going to say NO WAY... But, who would have thought that the Texans were the reason the Jaguars didnt make the playoffs last year? It happens. Denver is 2 games ahead in their division... but, they have TWO teams chasing them... SD and KC. Unlike the rest of our divisions. Pittsburgh and Cincinnati are tied... I do not think you have to worry about the Ravens or the Browns... but, it is a tight race between your two teams. With SEVEN games left... anything can happen. So, if we were to look at today... that leaves ... KC, SD, Jacksonville, Pittsburgh OR Cincinnati (and YES, possibly Buffalo) fighting for a wildcard spot. Possibly Five teams (counting Buffalo) that are fighting for 2 wildcard spots. And, that is not even a given. The AFC is always really close. Last year... the two wildcard spots were not known until AFTER the final games were played. It could be the same this year. Quote
NYBengalfan Posted November 17, 2005 Author Report Posted November 17, 2005 I know, I update it every week, I just like keeping everyone here updated. I also believe that it is way to early. Lets just say that it is, Updating for the sake of updating. Quote
