jjakq27
On top of that, his presence meant Levi got to learn at the feet of a master, and I suspect that's done him far more good than would a decade of Paul Alexander's "coaching."Lol, so true. I can't stand Alexander and his under-performing draft picks. What linemen is underperforming under Alexander??Levi and Willie are good OT's... Steinbach and Bobbi havent been a hindrance.. Braham is decent.Adrews is a project that seems to be making good progress.. Kooistra is a capable backup....so who's not playing well under Alexander's tutorage????Before Alexander, the Bengals didn't have to burn 1st & 2nd round picks on Offensive Linemen. There is normally not a whole lot of developing needed with a #1 or #2. Jim McNally took lower round picks and turned them into great pros. Ex: Mike Wilson(4), Joe Walters(7), Max Montoya (7), Dave Lapham (3), Bruce Kozerski (9), Bruce Reimers (8). One of the worst things the organization ever did was let Jim McNally go. I think Jimmy wanted out of here and went to work for the expansion Panthers in 1995. That was one of Boomer's compaints in 1991 and 1992, was that the team had become spoiled by McNally's talents. They were drafting O-linemen in the lower rounds hoping he could do the same after guys like Munoz, Montoya and Koz were gone.http://www.buffalobills.com/team/coach.jsp?coach_id=

At least he didn't have to wear a used jock strap, or use wash rags for towels, like the players did. I guess I am hard on Alexander, because I too was spoiled by McNally. I still think he is terrible though.
Unabated Sports
I'm impressed with all of the names that people have pulled out of the past. My personal favorite that I missed was Michael Westbrook. I completely forgot about him. That is saying something. Thanks for all of your suggestions. Here is my complete list:QB- Akili Smith, David Klingler (Do these two need any explaining?)RB- Ki-Jana Carter, Archie Griffin (Injuries or not, his career was sorely disappointing)FB- Stanley Wilson (If you don't know the Super Bowl story, ask someone. It is too depressing for me to mention.)WR- David Verser, Peter Warrick (Verser was the 10th overall pick in 1981. He finished with 23 catches for 454 Yards and 3 TDs in 4 years with the Bengals.)WR- Reggie Rembert, Ron Dugans (A former 2nd round draft pick-at least it was the Jets and not the Bengals- had great "upside", but finished a 3 year career with 36 Receptions, 437 Yards and 1TD)TE- Marco Battaglia (Bengals 2nd round draft pick in '96 had career highs of 14 catches, 153 yards and 1 TD in various seasons during the 5 years he played with the Bengals.)OT- Ken Blackman (3rd pick was brought down due to injury)OG- Freddie Childress (2nd round draft pick)C - Rod Payne (3rd round draft pick)OG-OT- Melvin Tuten (3rd pick in 1995, same year as Ki-Jana)DE- John Copeland (5th overall pick in 1993)DT- Dan Wilkinson (1st overall pick in 1994. Thank God they didn't take Marshall Faulk)DT- Wilson Whitley (8th overall pick and Lombardi Award Winner)DE- Lamar Rogers (2nd round pick in 1991)OLB- Reinard Wilson (1st rounder in 97 failed in conversion from DE to LB. Scored a 4 on IQ test)MLB- Kevin Hardy (High profile FA never lived up to the hype)OLB- Kirby Criswell (2nd round pick didn't even make the team and was out of NFL after 2 years)CB- Artrell Hawkins (Nicknamed "Toast". What more do I have to say?)CB- Thomas Randolph (Another Free agent who didn't live up to the hype)S - Lamont Thompson (Ball hawking 2nd round pick lasted 1 year in Cincy)S - Cory Hall (Couldn't make a tackle if his life... or the teams success... depended on it)K - Neil Rackers (Killed by the PB turf, now resurgent in Arizona)P - Travis Dorsch ("He pulled a Dorsch" was once used in a broadcast)Honorable Mention - Jack Thompson QB (We can try and trade him to Green Bay for Tony Mandarich to fill hole on the line.)Did I miss anyone? Do you agree/disagree? Who would you have included on the team or who would you take off the roster? I still need to fill a Guard on the Offensive line. Help us fill the slot and finish the full roster of backups. We'll be talking about this on Thursday night's show from 8-10 pm on 1450 AM The Ticket. Tune in and give your opinion.Unabatedsports.com

He was suppose to be all-world coming out of Nebraska, but was ate up in training camp individual drills by a smallish 10th round DT from Wisconsin. ahanes
What about the cornerback from West Virginia taken in the second round a few years back (Charles Fisher??). He never did anything for the Bengals. I'd also nominate the infamous Sean Brewer at tight end. Might be the worst pick in Bengals' draft history (most had him as an undrafted free agent and Bengals took him in the 3rd round).
