Stripes Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 Brat has taken the offense from 18th to 4th.. he deserves accolades despite what some of you think... I give every ounce of the credit for that improvement to Carson Palmer. And Brat had absolutely nothing to do with it???? In my fair opinion, precisely. With the same players, Bratkowski led them to 18th in yardage and 10th in scoring last year. Now, this year, with Palmer's emergence, and the exact same team around him, the team is 4th in yardage and 11th in scoring. If Brat gets ANY credit, it is for using Chris Perry well. Aside from some thrid down floppage, I will give him that. Quote
buck3y3d Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 There is no way he deserves that accolade. They didn't even look at our red zone stats, where play calling matters the most. Quote
AMC Posted November 5, 2005 Report Posted November 5, 2005 My only hope is that some idiot team like Houston picks up Brat as their Head coach next season and allow for a seamless trnasition between Zampese going to coordinator and Kitna to QB coach...of course he can still play, too...probably no such thing as player caoch in the pro's is there?Hey Big O...I agree with you (see my quote earlier in the thread) about Zampese....Kitna says he wants to coach high school and be a math teacher....while I think he would be an awesome QB coach, looks like he will pull one of those "personal conviction" jobs on us!!!!! PalmerforPresident Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Brat definitely dosent deserve consideration for his play calling in short yardage and redzone situations. Quote
The Big Orange Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Stuff I like that Brat has probably done or had input on decisions...Great and balanced use of Perry..I love the shuffle pass...we could use more screens, thoughGood rotation of WR's...old and new, with passes going to manyGreat progression of PalmerGood job bringing in Bobbie on the line...he's not great, but compliments Willie pretty goodGreat use of SteinbachGood use of reversesGreat use of the no-huddleGood overall protection of PalmerGood balance between running and passingStuff I hate that Brat has probably done or had input on decisions...Not a clue what to do with a TE but blockOverall lousy play calling and especially weak in the red zone and 3rd and 4th downsNo variety whatsoever on plays for RudiLousy coaching on pre-snap penaltiesVanilla receiving routesMediocre coaching up O-linemenOverall he's pretty lucky to have a great head coach and a couple of stars in his assistants Quote
walshfan Posted November 6, 2005 Report Posted November 6, 2005 Orange,1. Marvin's philosophy is TE's blocking...whats Brat to do?2. Red Zone penalties hurt the team earlier in the year.3. Rudi is north and south..no hands and no jukes4. Presnap penalties should be fault of his coaches too5. they run the same routes most teams do..look at completions percentages6. fire Jay Hayes then..oh wait thats Marvins' boyhood chum7. Overall the team could do allot worse than the 4th ranked offensePlaying Devil's Advocate with ya.... Quote
jamesbrooks21 Posted November 7, 2005 Report Posted November 7, 2005 How surprising is it that no one has said anything about the game Brat called today? Very well done. That long pass play to Chad inside the five on the game clinching drive.....that is the same type of play people have been bitching about. Worked out pretty well wouldn't ya say? Quote

I was about to come here and give Brat some kudos for calling a pretty good game. A pleasant and most unexpected surprise indeed. This deep pass to Chad was different than last week though.... earlier in the 4th quarter and a smaller lead to maintain. Quote
