Humanzee 5000 Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 TO RUDI JOHNSON!I am still baffled about what happened with him on sunday. F-in Bratowski is a punk. So we flubbed that first drive. Is Carson so good and experienced that we completely abandon a running back who was on fire right off the rip?Still fired up about that! I know I know, not bratowski's fault. BULLs**tE!!! Quote
redsbengalsbucks Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 You got that right. What were they thinking? Why didnt Lewis walk over and slap the back of his head and remind him that RUDI was tearing them up early? Why allow a good defense to focus only on the passing game? This loss fits squarely on the coaching staff, mainly offensive coordinator. Turi Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 From your opening drive I was pretty scared and thought the Bengals were gonna tear us up. Especially Rudi. Then you started using him less. I didn't get why but it helped us out a lot. Luckily our red zone defense did well also. Then you fluffed the FG. Your next drive was similar resulting in another bad red zone performance on your offense but this time you hit the FG. Everyone knows as soon as the Steelers take the lead they're going to pound the ball resulting in oppositions restricting their runs and going for the pass. If Rudi carried on running the ball like he was in the opening drives than it could have been a different game. We would have been chasing the lead instead then Big Ben would have come under a lot of pressure. Quote
redsbengalsbucks Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 Turi you said it. Your team did exactly what it needed to, my team blew the chance it had to take control of the game.Hopefully we meet 2 more times this season. Quote

The Bengals surprised them by running the ball so much on the first drive. Brat probably should have waited for the Steelers to take away the run, before going to the pass. But, only coming away with 3 points on two RZ drives freaked everyone out. Poise was certainly lacking on our part. I just hope they learned something. Quote
Bobcat Bengal Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 That whole opening drive debauchery kinda set the tone for the rest of the game. Quote
derekshank Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 What are you guys talking about? The only two times Rudi didn't get an opportunity to run the ball was at the end of the first half when we were driving the field with limited time, and in the 4th quarter when the game was already out of hand.Rudi was not as effective in the 3rd quarter.. and we had bad luck which resulted in INT's. Continuing to run Rudi in the 4th quarter would not have helped at all. That whole opening drive debauchery kinda set the tone for the rest of the game.Debauchery means "Extreme indulgence in sensual pleasures"I assume you meant debacle, which means "A sudden, disastrous collapse"I received no sensual pleasure from failing to get a TD and missing a FG Quote

OrangeStripes Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 I might have if they would have made the fg and td but nope no sensual pleasure... damit Quote

Stripes Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 From your opening drive I was pretty scared and thought the Bengals were gonna tear us up. As we were driving the ball down the field, I was thinking to myself, "Ha! Steelers fans must be nibbling at their fingernails now!" All was well in my world. Rudi had over 40 yards already, and the offensive line was playing very well. Next came a beautiful 18 yard touchdown pass from Carson Palmer to Chad Johnson. But wait! A smidgeon of his fingertip went out of bounds a fraction of a second before he could get both feet down! Yay! That's okay, because our wonderful receiving corps will bail us out. What do you know, on the very next play, it was a touchdown pass to Chris Henry, his third of the season! Quote
kingwilly Posted October 27, 2005 Report Posted October 27, 2005 It all unravelled like a big cable kint sweater after that.....The tears in my beers was like salt in a wound... Quote
