Stripes Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 Nice post. Aside from the Colts running away with the AFC, the conference appears wide open right now. Quote
AMC Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 Man, what if the wild card comes down to Cin vs. KC on that final weekend????If we don't win the division, the wild cards will be a dog fight between us, KC/DEN, JAX and possibly BUF.Best way to get in is win the division!Nice post BTW. Spain Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 Beat Pitt in their house is always best. Out pace them, dont lose another hope they do! Win the wild card go home eary! the three things that can happen this year! Quote

Aside from the Colts running away with the AFC, the conference appears wide open right now.I dont think that the Colts will run away with the AFC. I think that theyre gonna win their Division. They should be gunning for top Seed. But how could I forget... in 2003 when we beat KC when they were 9-0, They finished 4-3 and were the no. 2 seed that year. Quote

But how could I forget... in 2003 when we beat KC when they were 9-0, They finished 4-3 and were the no. 2 seed that year.I'm not sold on the Colts running away with their division. They might pull it out... but it isn't a lock yet.The Colts still have to play @NE, @Cin, Pit, @Jax, SD, and @Sea. That is 6 of their last 9 games against teams with winning records.... and 4 of those being on the road. 6 of their 7 wins this season have been against teams with losing records (@Bal, Cle, @Ten, @SF, St.L, @Hou... that is horrible) and the one team with a winning record (Jax) was at home (and it came down to the last second). I'm beginning to think they might not be as good as their 7-0 record might imply. They are good... yes, but Jacksonville has a 4-2 record against 5 teams with a winning record (Sea, @Ind, Den, Cin, @Pit)... and their upcoming schedule is as follows. @St.L, Hou, Bal, @Ten, @Ari, @Cle, Ind, SF, @Hou, Ten. The Jags are not out of this hunt yet... and I'd be worried if I were a Colts fan. I'll bet Indy loses @Jax, @Cin, Pit and maybe SD. That is 13-3 or 12-4. If I'm right, that means Jax merely need to win 8 or 9 games to tie or even win their division... and given their schedule... that is realistic. All of this to say... homefield hasn't been decided yet. We're still in the hunt too. Quote
kingwilly Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 I've posted earlier that our biggest game of the year is probably @KC.Let's not overlook the game at Detroit. Garcia back with Mariucci and a decent running game is no walk in the park.Of the items that NY lays out, the JAX/Indy struggle will be very interesting, given the disparity in schedule toughness the rest of the way. Jax has a real shot. The west is a crapshoot. Nothing would surprise me there, even like if the Raiders stromed back to win the division. Playing/winning without Randy forced this team to solidify and quit leaning on one guy. Their D looks tough and Jordan seems to be getting going. Marty will prevent SD from realizing thier full potential. KC's D will fall apart and Denver still has Jake at QB. Quote
CBin2k7 Posted October 26, 2005 Report Posted October 26, 2005 The AFC west will beat up on each other, I think Oakland will play spoiler, and San Diego won't be an easy out either on any given week San Diego can look like the best team in the NFL.I will be very surprised if two teams make it out of the AFC East, Buffalo at NE is a must win for the Bills, to drop their 5th game of the season, would make them have to be near perfect to make the playoffs, granted they almost did it last year.I like the Bengals chances at a wild card.
