duus
I doubt I will get to listen to this interview, but I'm very interested in knowing what he says/thinks. If you hear it, please comment. I continue to hold the opinion that many Steelers (Cowher, Ward, Bettis, Rottenburger) go out of their way to take every interview in the world, and make themselves known. I suppose that's not entirely horrible, but I just feel like they put extra emphasis on getting their mugs seen and voices heard nationally. HoosierCat
I actuallly have a huge amount of respect for Bettis. He may be the most underrated RB of all time. In my book, he can say whatever he wants.

If you hear it, please comment. He didn't say anything much. He basically spouted the party line about Ben - hopefully he'd play but they didn't know for sure yet. He and Dan Patrick argued about whether he weighed 250 or 270 and whether Matt Leinart or the Notre Dame QB would be better in the NFL and they made a bet on the Bengals game (Bettis would give up 15 yards on his rushing stats if he lost - I have no idea why Dan Patrick wanted that - and Dan Patrick would go to Pittsburgh and play a round of golf with Bettis if Pittsburgh beat the Bengals). Bettis came across as a nice guy.
duus
Excellent. I always expect the middle of the road from Bettis. Good guy ... does good things. Just curious if he might say anything about the coming matchup. Sounds like very little had to do with that. Thanks!
Kirkendall
I wonder if he still feels bad about Joisey being a Bengals fan.Perhaps Joisey could call Bettis at home, tell him he feels bad -- call him a poor soul even -- about being a "spectator"http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-re...s/s_385185.html

HairOnFire
I thought the most interesting thing Bettis said during a very silly interview came right at the end when Patrick jokingly warned him not to take the Bengals lightly. Bettis responded by saying he wouldn't because the Bengals were in 1st place and the Steelers were the ones doing the chasing. Other than that remark the only thing of interest was an overall sense that the Steelers loss to the Jags was far more painful than most due to the way it played out. joshh967
I agree with JoiseyCat there...a very classy guy that doesnt have the typical football player ignorant attitude. For as much hatred that i hold for the steelers. I have to say that i think Bettis is good player and i do like him.
ahanes
I hate the Steelers, but like others above, I must admit that Jerome Bettis seems like a great guy and is someone I root for when he's not playing the Bengals. This in spite of the fact that he has run all over the Bengals' asses for the last decade. But I still think the Bus is on his last tire and will not break 50 yards against the Bengals this week. Willie Parker might give them fits though ala Fred Taylor.*
HoosierCat
Bettis has certainly been a Bengals-killer dirung his career, and despite my admiration for the guy I hope the Bus hits a big pothole if he plays Sunday. That said, if there's a guy who could aptly be described as the "Ken Anderson of RBs" (i.e. no respect) it would be him. In case anyone hasn't looked lately, Jerome Bettis is No. 5 all time in rushing yards. hhere's the top 10 from profootball-reference.com: 1. E Smith 18355 2. W Payton 16726 3. B Sanders 15269 4. *C Martin 13651 5. *J Bettis 13348 6. E Dickerson 13259 7. T Dorsett 12739 8. J Brown 12312 9. M Allen 1224310. F Harris 12120Now, I don't care who you are, that's some pretty damn good company. Yet I will bet you that he will get snubbed by the Hall just like Kenny. Kirkendall
The wheels on the bus go round and round, round and round, round and round....You know, we've given the Bus alot of love -- first time in BZ history we've spoke good about an upcoming opponent. I think it's fine time for the Steeler fans to give us some love with Kevin Kaesvaharn. Of his six interceptions coming into this season, three were against Pittsburgh.
