cincykent
The loser of the Bengals-Jags game may be on the outside of the playoff bubble at seasons end. We all know the first tie-breaker is head-to-head matchup. You figure that Denver or San Diego will take one of the wildcard spots. Miami will probably fade out of the picture by season's end. That leaves the Jags as our main competition at this point. A win vs the Jags would be huge.
semiotter
You make a good point, but all the "Ws" are big for us this year.......
schweinhart
The head-to-head is a valid point. But the bigger must-win for the Bengals IMO was last week vs. Texans. Blow that one and the playoff picture could have been cloudier turning the bye.The Jags come out for this one like it's their version of the AFC Championship game. They should be as prepared and as psyched as they will be for any game this year, which would be all the sweeter to watch if the Bengals hand their a$$es to them. Columbusbengal
The head-to-head is a valid point.I really don't think the Jags will be in the picture for the playoffs, whether or not they beat the Bengals. They have a good chance to win tonight because the game is at home and, as someone already mentioned, will take place in a playoff atmosphere. Overall, though, the Jags just have too many problems to be consistently successful - and they have a tough schedule. I think the most important aspect for the Bengals is to win every game they can because if they finish 11-5, they will make the playoffs no matter who they lost to or who else is in contention. BengalszoneBilly
I highly doubt the Bengals are looking at this game as it pertains to their far from being determined playoff picture. They're looking at this game as they've looked at every game so far this season: This is the team we have to beat this week. That's all we got to worry about this week. We'll worry about the next team next week. Until then...KEEP SHOVELING!
WhoDey93285
We're going to win the North, anyways.
cincykent
I believe losing to the Jags will end up haunting them down the road. I hope this season doesn't turn out like 1986 when they missed out on the playoffs due to a tiebreaker even though they were won of the hottest teams at the end of the season.
