The Big Orange Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Several other players had a really nice day...TJ, Walter, Madieu, Pollack, O-line, but I thought these guys were the best. Quote
The_Next_Big_Thing Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 In a very tough decision, I have to give it to Dude, your getting ODELL!I think he really set the tone for our defense yesterday. Quote
John Stofa Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Carson had the best game statistically, but I voted Rudi for MVP. We were a different team when he came in the game. Then after we went up 27-10 our offense died because we stopped giving Rudi the ball. Then midway through the 4th quarter we started giving it to him again and our offense took off again. These things weren't just coincidences. Rudi is the straw that stirs our drink on offense. It only took one game to see that. Quote
kingwilly Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Odell. His presence is going to put our D over the top for a long time.Rudi is a close second. Man, he looks tough as the game wears on. Quote
vettespd20 Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 I give it to Carson, he showed great leadership and lead the team to the victory. Quote
Stripes Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 My vote goes to Rudi. He was the most consistent player on the field, and his game opened up the success for Carson, Chad, and T.J.He never broke a long one, but wow, he just kept pounding out 5 and 6 yard runs. It was beautiful.Keep it up Rudi! :player: Quote
AGrizzlyBaer Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 rudi just keeps pounding and pounding maybe he will be our jerome bettis Quote
Bobcat Bengal Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 I gave it to Odell.Aside from the blown coverage on the Jackson TD rec, that was about as good as a rookie playing his first game could get. Quote
BengalPappaw Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 I also liked the O-Line work -- most of the time. Quote
bengalindian Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 I was just amazed at the ability of Rudi to get 5 or 6 yards every time on that drive where the Browns knew they were gonna hand it off. They still couldn't stop it and that's what I feel is so promising about this season; if the Bengals can get a lead, they can run down the clock without getting a simple 3 and out and giving the other team a chance. benglsdrumr Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Carson threw a couple of "on the line of scrimmage" passes to Chad. I'm guessing that he's trying to improve his ability to gain more YAC a la PDub Quote
MacD BengalFan Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Rudi. Everytime he touched the ball, he seemed he would gain 6-8 yards at a time. And with him pounding it into the middle, he wore out the defense. If there was a hole close by, he found it. I actually thought he was going to break one, but he got pulled down after he passed the linebackers after gaining 10 yards. It is a little frustrating, and I DO mean a little, to see him find the hole, fly through it looking like he will streak down the field only to get caught in the secondary by the safety. Outside of that, he is terrific and I will not fault him for gaining just 8 yards at a time. I have him on all of my fantasy teams!!! And no, he is not on the trading block. But someone did offer Clarett for him. What do you guys think? Should I have taken it? Quote
Stripes Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 What do you guys think? Should I have taken it? I think you should feel insulted, as you probably do. That is just rediculous. Quote
Jonboat Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Man tough choice, I went for Palmer he looked great. He was accurate, was making adjustments @ the line, very poised, I also seen him look off receivers several times, he did a great job of spreading the ball around. I second the O-line they totally dominated the line giving Palmer all day & opening holes for Rudi. Odell is a mad man! Wow he's kicking some serious a$$ & I love the fire & trash talking on the field. Quote
staticx682000 Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 I'm giving this one to carson. He showed poise, and was cool under pressure.Besides if carson plays bad, we suffer big time....So i hope carson gets it ever game and the rest run a close second..... Quote
Sportsdoc Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 Odell looked good but Madieu seemed like he was all over the secondary.Did K2 play the other safety most of the day? I only Ohately once............. Quote
HairOnFire Posted September 13, 2005 Report Posted September 13, 2005 All are deserving, but I voted for Rudi. Probably don't have to say why because a blind man could see what he means to this teams offense. 2nd choice? Ratliff. I was sooooooo impressed with his play last season, and he's going to be even better this year. Quote
