Bengalbob Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 Is it just me or are there more ads this year compared to last? I couldn't get ahead on my TiVo! I'm watching the Sunday night game and am not noticing the same thing. What's up? Quote
Stripes Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 There's always a rediculous number of ads during a football game. ESPN is a little better about it, but for the most part, here's how it usually works:Kickoff and run backCommercialsA few offensive playsTimeoutCommercialsPlay resumesPlayer injuredCommercialsPlay resumesTeam scoresCommercialsCycle repeats. HairOnFire Posted September 12, 2005 Report Posted September 12, 2005 I can't say if they are more adds because I just fast forward through them. To do this I always record the Bengal game but watch the beginning of another game until I've fallen behind the live action enough to gain the needed buffer. Today I watched the Titans roll through the Steelers defense like a hot knife thru butter on their opening drive. Turned out to be their only highlite all day. After the TD I turned to the Bengal game and didn't catch up with live action until halftime....when I repeat the trick. Didn't watch a commercial all day. What does bug me is all of the promos the networks run for their shows whenever there's a delay in game action. MNF is the absolute worst at this, but CBS always gives 'em a run for their money. And for the record, I will never ever watch the show "Cold Case" simply because CBS pissed me off so badly last year. Seriously, I don't care if it's a great show or if the gal with the haircut spends half of the show parading around naked. I'm not watching. Quote
