There's always a rediculous number of ads during a football game. ESPN is a little better about it, but for the most part, here's how it usually works:

Kickoff and run back

Commercials

A few offensive plays

Timeout

Commercials

Play resumes

Player injured

Commercials

Play resumes

Team scores

Commercials

Cycle repeats.

I can't say if they are more adds because I just fast forward through them. To do this I always record the Bengal game but watch the beginning of another game until I've fallen behind the live action enough to gain the needed buffer. Today I watched the Titans roll through the Steelers defense like a hot knife thru butter on their opening drive. Turned out to be their only highlite all day. After the TD I turned to the Bengal game and didn't catch up with live action until halftime....when I repeat the trick. Didn't watch a commercial all day.

What does bug me is all of the promos the networks run for their shows whenever there's a delay in game action. MNF is the absolute worst at this, but CBS always gives 'em a run for their money. And for the record, I will never ever watch the show "Cold Case" simply because CBS pissed me off so badly last year. Seriously, I don't care if it's a great show or if the gal with the haircut spends half of the show parading around naked. I'm not watching.
