AGrizzlyBaer Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 Im so psyched first home game of the year hope themac crushing trend continues in the big ten Quote
bengalboomer7 Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 Purdue pisses me off this year just because they have a chance to get one of those "Northwestern type" Big Ten titles. How can you win the Big Ten if you don't play any of the powerhouses. Quote
AGrizzlyBaer Posted September 10, 2005 Author Report Posted September 10, 2005 haha we play iowa at home just the favor of the schedule. boiler up! Quote
rizzy Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 Yeah their schedule is too easy, but it doesn't matter. They can be Co-Big Ten Champs, but they don't have a shot for the national title though and that is all that really matters. Quote
Stripes Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 I think Purdue is overrated. No doubt, they have a cupcake schedule, but I expect them to lose to Iowa, and probably another game or two. If not, then I'll be a very annoyed Buckeye fan. I haven't seen or heard anything about Kyle Orton's replacement, is he looking any good? Quote
Bobcat Bengal Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 Man, why doesn't the Big Ten just get a championship game done? They're missing out on soooo much money. That thing would be HUGE. Quote

Agreed, agreed, and agreed again. I never understood why the Big ten doesn't already do that. It may end up being a second Ohio State / Michigan game 2 years out of 3, and that would be lame. Only reason I can think of. Quote
bengalindian Posted September 10, 2005 Report Posted September 10, 2005 Yep, although Purdue has a relatively easy schedule as compared to Michigan and OSU (Go Bucks), I see them losing either to Iowa, or getting upset on the road at Penn State or somewhere else. The Big Ten is solid all the way around. Quote
AGrizzlyBaer Posted September 10, 2005 Author Report Posted September 10, 2005 i just got back from the game and ortons replacement is Brandon Kirsch, who is much more an option qb, so he can run a million times better then orton, but it seemed like they didnt want to pass with him that muc Quote

The main reason in my own personal opinion is that the conference leaders hope to get 2 teams to BCS bowls, which is 17 million dollars (13 million for the 1st team and 4 million for the second team and each additional team), and a national champion. OSU and Michigan, one if not both would always be in the title game, which would also decrease the chance of getting a National Title Birth. Finnally, the Big X would have to separate into a North/South divisions meaning they would have to add a team. The only team the Big X would like to add is Notre Dame. this will never happen and neither will a championship game. Quote
