WHO DEY AGAIN?
Is everyone going to be scouting the bowl today? I'll keep a close eye on defense and playing time at D position.

Well what else is there to watch while we're jones-ing for the Super Bowl next weekend Who Dey? It'll be tough to really evaluate the Defensive units because they don't allow blitzing, and tough to evaluate the Offensive units because the also don't allow any motion before the snap. I'll still watch though. Unless it's a blow out, but I don't forsee that.
chrishcovga
The key thing to watch out for when scouting defensive players in this type of game will be all of the one on one matchups...Since there will be no Blitzing.. chipping.. roll blocking is also banned. Which means most matchups will be one on one.Look then to see what defensive lineman have more than one or 2 moves to the quarterback. As well , which of these top lineman can handle a double move and how well they drive block.Thirdly watch who's aggressive in coverage. there will be an overabundance of Zone coverage today, so let's see which of these safeties can really read a quarterbacks eyes, or which corners can play the underneath stuff.Really Good day to see which middle linebacker can stuff the run and play passing lanes as well. Damn ........................ Good insight. Think there may be another Abdullah hiding in the woodpile ??????????
chrishcovga
Sure why not.... Abdullah played well on special teams, and his athleticism and knowledge of the defense , we should expect better things from him next season.Abdullah Jr.= Demorio Williams linebacker from Nebraska.-that little guy can run and hit. Put Greg Jones down on a big hit and he's giving up 30+ pounds to him. He also broke up a pass in the game as well. May not have a lot of size, but He's got good instincts and speed.maybe we draft him in rounds 3 or 4 and feed him some Peanut butter sandwiches before he goes to sleep. Could turn out to be a Dexter Coakley or Randall Godfrey for us.
DuffMan
Daryl Smith out of Georgia Tech i thought played pretty well at MLB, he showed good speed and range. Dockett might slip into the 1st round with his peformance, which sucks b/c i was hoping the Bengals could nab him in the 2nd. None of the DBs were that impressive, especially Strait and Schweigert (he cant tackle at all!).

It was to the affect that while Lewis didn't mention any names, it was obvious that Abdullah and Weathersby were 2 of the 4 that he was talking about. He said these guys needed to realize that if they didn't take the next step that there were other guys that were going to be pushing for thier spots. Went on to say your rookie year is over, so its time to grow up. He then added that 8 and 8 wan't good enough and we are going to be moving on either with you or without you. As Marin Lewis put it, it was time to drop the hammer on a few guys. Tough crowd huh ????
