The Big Orange
Sure you got pigskin pick'em, but you can show your hand a little bit. Here are mine. These are from a front page article I may do...tell me what you think.2005 Week 1 PredictionsBank (my "lock" picks)Minnesota over Tampa Bay by 10. Gruden starts to look more and more like a one season wonder and Tice looks like a genius...neither are true.New England over Oakland by 17. Moss may not drop off the world like Sapp did, but he will work himself out of the top tier wide outs and Belichick will shock the world by wearing something nice.Pittsburgh over Tennessee by 7. Polamalu begins his journey to be crowned this years defensive MVP and the Titans get denied their entrance application into the SEC because they are not good enough.Carolina over New Orleans by 21.It's hard to beat up a team from a town that has been so beat up, but the Panthers didn’t even try that hard.House Safe. (My "confident" picks)Jacksonville over Seattle by 10.Warrick enjoys riding the Seahawks bench way better than riding ours while the Jags d-line register 3 int's, not one of the Hasselback's fault.Bengals over Browns by 13.TJ catches for 150 yards and Trent Dilfer throws for 150 yards.San Diego over Dallas by 6.Brees still looks good as does Julius Jones, but the Cowboys are one dimensional in this game.Buffalo over Houston by 3.Losman flashes but is inconsistent while Carr goes consistently off track.Secure Wallet. (My "pretty sure" picks)Denver over Miami by 7.Even though I think the Broncos won't be good this year they do get some false confidence after this game.St. Louis over San Francisco by 10.This game will be ugly early, but during the second half the Rams will get in a groove.Green Bay over Detroit by 3.Favre could almost beat the entire Lions D by himself.Arizona over New York Giants by 13.Eli Manning will one day be mentioned in the same grouping as Akili Smith while Arizona has a coach.Loose Change in a Leaky Pocket. (My "up in the air" picks)Philadelphia over Atlanta by 6.Overhypedness reaches its climax and the TV producers nearly beg T.O. to say something controversial and demand that Mora run more option plays.Indianapolis over Baltimore by 27.I really think that the Ravens are going to stink it up this year, but I can't seem to think logically about the team because I hate them so much. Plus, my wife is from Indiana.Washington over Chicago by 1.It's hard to make this pick because if you fast forward to Christmas neither one of these guys has 6 wins, so I really don't care.New York Jets over Kansas City by 4.I think the Jets have a team on both sides of the ball, while KC has the tools, they just need to fit in the tool belt, and that will take a little time. StripesNTn
Minnesota over Tampa Bay by 14Minnesotas improved defense should hold Tampa to very lil offenseOakland over New England by 7This one should be close, Moss could be the difference maker.Pittsburgh over Tennessee by 7.This is a tough one, Pitts defense is good enough and titans bad enough to make this happen.Carolina over New Orleans by 10.Saints will try, but come up shortSeattle over Jacksonville by 3This one should be very close. Offenses are very even and Seattle has a slightly better defense.Bengals over Browns by 14.200 yards combined rushing by Rudi and PerrySan Diego over Dallas by 10.San Diego is the better team all the way around. This could turn into a blowout.Houston over Buffalo by 7.Texans get off to a quick start and smack the bills QB around.Denver over Miami by 10.Denver is the better team, but not by much St. Louis over San Francisco by 17.St. Louis will be up 14 by the half, and will let Jackson pound away the clock in the 2nd half.Green Bay over Detroit by 14.Favre usually plays well when he is abit stressed. Just lost the family home Arizona over New York Giants by 7.Close game hard to call. Which QB struggles more?Philadelphia over Atlanta by 10.Eagles dominate, this could become worse.Indianapolis over Baltimore by 17.Hers hoping for the best Washington over Chicago by 3.These could be flipped but hey who cares about the Skins and the bears anyway?Kansas City over New York Jets by 7Pennington just cant loft it over that last defender to tie it at the end
