walshfan Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 The following is the won-lost records of the entire NFL since 2002 in terms of how many times they turn the ball over in a game....think 1 more turnover than the opponent doesnt have much of a bearing on a game? Turnovers--Record Pct.. even--- 58-58 .500+ 1----- 77-31-1 .711+ 2----- 75-13 .852+ 3 ----- 70-5 .933Just to have one more turnover than your opponent means you only win 29% of the time but two and it goes to only winning 15%..three would mean your chances of winning are but 7%....Lets hope we get a quick turnover early in the game so the odds are on our side. This is a great post that really rings true in the NFL. When I am watching games, and we have a turnover, I automatically say "Well we are -1 we have a 25% chance now" and if we cause one I do the reverse. It really is true in the NFL. It is so rare that you win when you commit a lot of turnovers. Quote

skyline Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 By far the most telling statistic in football, I would think. It's nice to finally have some playmakers on our defense. Quote

I think we were 6th in takeways last year, and this year, we've added even more Marvin guys. It should be fun to watch. Quote
Columbusbengal Posted September 7, 2005 Report Posted September 7, 2005 The one thing we did well in pre-season was have fewer turnovers than the opponents. Quote
