bengalsLB Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 if we want to make the playoffs he better have a vilma type year :player: good articule Quote
derekshank Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 Hope so... I head some guys on the radio talking about the Georgia Bulldogs, wondering if they were going to be real contenders this year. The guy said they would have a hard time, since they lost their two best defenders, Pollack, and Thurman... no mention of Thomas Davis, the SS that most of us were pissed that the Saints took before he got to us. Sounds like it worked out for the best. Hopefully Georgia's two best defenders will be Cincy's 2 best defenders some day. Quote
Stripes Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 I thought the Panthers ended up with Thomas Davis, but oh well no matter. Odell has looked awesome in the preseason, and if he plays like that all year, he'll have a better than Vilma season. I'm excited about our linebackers this year. They'll make their youthful mistakes, but boy are the talented. We still have Simmons to keep 'em in line. Quote

I don't remember who got him, I just remember that the Saints were supposed to take him right before us. I didn't bother looking it up because, I don't really care. He wasn't one of Georgia's two best defenders, and he went before either of them. Quote

Bengals4Me Posted August 31, 2005 Report Posted August 31, 2005 For the record, FS Thomas Davis went to Carolina as the 14th pick of the draft. Quote
superdrool Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 Dawg here... Just wanted to set something straight. The top 2 defenders for UGA last year were David Pollack and Thomas Davis, hands down and not necessarily in that order. Odell may turn out to be a better pro than both, but that doesn't change the previous statement. Quote
Who? Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 I notice Braylon Edwards wasn't on the list at all.. what do you guys think he will do this year? Odell I think will be the leading tackler for you guys this year, Landon Johnson did it last year. Quote

This is pretty much a guess in the dark, but if I had to predict Braylon's rookie statistics, here they are:38 receptions550 yards4 TDs Quote
Spain Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 Who, This guy is going to suck as the QB carousel continues, Although it wnt be his fault. Quote

bengalindian Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 Is anyone surprised that Logan Mankins, a potential nobody in April, is going to have a huge impact for the Patriots? Go figure. Quote
Who? Posted September 1, 2005 Report Posted September 1, 2005 Who, This guy is going to suck as the QB carousel continues, Although it wnt be his fault. With the improved line I don't think that's going to happen this year, I hope at least. Quote

Stripes Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Haha yeah, you better hope this year is your lucky year! Lucky Shmucky. If our Bengals have any success this season, with all of Bengaldom heralding the end of The Drought, it won't be luck. It will be talent and coaching.Or maybe it will be luck. Quote
HairOnFire Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 My best Braylon Edwards guess - 55 receptions, 770 yards, 6 TD's Quote

The_Next_Big_Thing Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Is that the same Vilma we had a chance to draft? Nope, that Vilma went in the first round 14 slots before we drafted Chris Perry Look out, the most likely response to come from the nutjob who said it was the same Vilma we had a chance to draft is "But we could have pulled a Ditka and traded our entire draft to get him!" DesperateDerelict Posted September 2, 2005 Report Posted September 2, 2005 Hey, we could have pulled a Ditka and traded our entire draft to get him!I'd hate to disappoint you, Big Thing - - we don't really need Perry or Madieu or Ratliff or Langdon or Caleb or ...... Quote
