I like Simon a lot and would love to see him here, but I would not overpay for him. If we can get him, great, but the Bengals can't overpay.

As far as Larson, I agree, he ought to be pushed.

I saw where Micah Knorr was cut by the Jets, I don't necessarily think he can handle the duties, but It would nice to see him give Larson a little competition.

Watching ESPN they listed 5 or 6 teams that Simon might go to, the Bengals were NOT one of them. That tells me that Simon is not even thinking about going to the Bengals. He will do what all quality free agents do ,use the Bengals to get his price up and go some where else. The Bengals have never landed a quality free agent and I dont see things changing anytime soon.Mike Brown is still breathing, isn't he?The only chance I see of them getting Simon is if he wants go to the Bengals to get a big signing bonus give it half speed half try, basically take a year or two off on the field until Marvin cuts him, pocket the signing bonus, blame the poor play the Bengals and get a new fat contract in a couple of years. As far as T. J. goes he might get cut anyway Simon or not.He looks worse than his rookie year.Kind of like Jeff Blake did as soon as he got his big contract.T.J. might get cut because if you had to list WR's on how they have played this year he would be at the bottom of the list. And,I dont think Marvin plays that $h!T!!!

Chris Mortensen listed teams twice that may be interested in Simon, and both times, the first team to leave his mouth was the Cincinnati Bengals. That said, I hope he's wrong, because I don't want Simon.

I think Mort is one of the best in the business. If he says the Bengals have a chance, then for now, I'll believe it. I don't know the salary cap figures of all the other teams intereseted, but from a financial standpoint, we really don't have to clear up any cap room to make room for him

Agreed on Mort. He finds a way to be a very good source of football knowlege despite being an ESPNite.

How many times, in how many threads do you have to see

MARVIN LEWIS IS NOT GOING TO LET MIKE BROWN PAY COREY SIMON OVER FIVE MILLION DOLLARS A YEAR TO PLAY HERE!!!!! NOT EVEN IF ALVIN AND THEODORE COME WITH HIM!

Simon may or may not be the answer, but we still have a major question at DT!

Look at what's the DT rotation now. Robinson (who's over 30), Thornton (who's a penetrator - read 'Quick' Tackle, not 'Strong' tackle), and Askew (unproven and a little disappointing). Everyone else is an LDE faking the tackle position.

Chuck is going to lobby hard for a tackle to keep the interior OL away from his prize LB's. Marvin will listen. Mikey will ask to check the waiver wires for someone that will give him more bang for his buck, but it might turn out that Simon is the best option.

Let's win today, and restock tomorrow!

PS - We probably should merge this thread with the other one out there.
