Stripes Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 My vote goes to the starters playing the 1st quarter. I don't want any injuries, but I think it would take at least that long to see if any progress has been made. Quote
turningpoint Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 well i think willie should play through the 1st quarter, along with madiue. I think their( rest of the team) play will dictate how long they play, if they get it done in the 1st couple of series( a td or fg in either drive) i believe they'll be warming the bench for the rest of the game, but if they look flat they should be in the 1st quarter. same with the defense. That's what I was thinking. If the offense comes out and has a couple of good drives in the first quarter, then sit them. I wouldn't expect them playing in the second half at all. Quote
rizzy Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Play em for at least 1 quarter. I am going to the game so of course I want them to play a lot so I don't have to watch scrubs the whole game. Quote
mtmeece Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Play em till they get it right, if they don't or can't it's not gonna matter anyway. They are professional's and should be in good enough shape to play a full game and then rest up for next week. What is gonna happen during regular season when they play 4 quarters and only get 6 days to rest until the next game. If Indy puts their scrubs in then pull the starters the value of what can be accomplished is diminished. For those that are concerned about injuries, I also don't want to see anyone hurt but they are running out of time and opportunitys to get it right. And no the sky is not falling. Quote
kingwilly Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Gotta give the offense at least the first half and a couple of series in the second. The 1st team D should play the whole game. Quote
bengalindian Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Don't play them more than 1 or 2 series, except for those who are returning from injury. The Bengals play the Colts later in the year, and don't need Dungy and company to pick any plays or schemes up. Quote
mtmeece Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Don't you think that Dungy & Co. have a pretty good handle on plays and schemes I really don't think that the Bengals are going to introduce anything new and revolutionary. I hope that what they do this year is Master the fundamentals and learn how to play solid. Quote
BengalByTheBay Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 2 series (probably 1 quarter) on offense and at least a half on defense. I think DP needs some more time with the front 7. No 1st teamers should play in the second half. Those wanting the offense to play into the second half are crazy. CP took enough hits against Philly to give pause about playing him at all. Quote
