Stripes
Maybe some of our resident Rudi bashers can learn something from their messiah. Here's a quote from Chris Perry on Rudi Johnson:"He got his money, and he deserved it. He deserved every penny of it. It's not out of my pocket, so it doesn't bother me," he says, adding, "The future will take care of itself."
walshfan
I think Perry is telling it straight.. He's good to go but not 100% yet... That said I think he can get his legs stronger as the season goes on.. He's not going to be the workhorse.. He'll be a situational back..He 's probably frustrated that he can't do all the things he knows he can... He's still an upgrade at running back from last year....We now have 3 good RB's...... HairOnFire
Random thoughts... I think it's fair to say that I like Chris Perry more than the fans who have pimped him. That said, his remarks about Rudi deserving everything he's gotten are dead on. It takes a lot of guts to admit that you probably won't be at full strength until the start of your 3rd NFL season. I wish the article mentioned why Perry was being listed as questionable for the next exhibition game. Last, it's amazing how many keystrokes are wasted on a RB who is currently averaging 2.84 yards per rush.
kingwilly
Perry had 2 hernia operations. The article indicates 1. Shabby reporting.

We have three players that we can put on the field and get production from. Last year, Rudi had no legitimate backup, and Watson was only good for 3rd and long. Perry can come in at any time to spell Rudi.

I would agree that the depth at the position is alot better. My opinion is that Chris Perry will be an excellent complement To Rudi Johnson and that the two of them will rack up many a yard in stripes. mtmeece
After further review: Sounds like Perry thinks he is not fully recovered. Many people have bashed Rudi in the past in the form stating that Perry will overtake Rudi's starting role this year, looks like we might have to wait till next year??I'm really anxious to get this year under way and then get it over with," he says, "so I can have the offseason to work out."
