The_Next_Big_Thing Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Pdub is cancer. Cut it out before it spreads. He'll be surprised how well we'll get along without him. I wouldn't go so far as to say he is cancer. He's just asking for a fair chance to either make the roster (not bloody likely) or to be cut early so he can find a job.If your boss said to you "We may be firing you sometime this month", and you had a chance to get another job, but couldn't take one until your employer terminated your current contract, wouldn't you rather be fired sooner than later? HairOnFire Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 Whatever they would stand to gain from keeping Warrick and extra week or two is negligible to what they would gain in player relations by being upfront with him now. I feel that Warrick has worked hard for this team, and keeping him in the dark isn't the proper way to treat him. Fair enough, but you're talking now about the actual act of cutting Warrick as opposed to Warricks decision to plead his case in the newspapers. That's the part I don't understand. If Warrick desired an early cut and wanted to make that point known then he's well served to make those remarks to the coaching staff or the front office. But under that scenario we're not talking about a player who has been kept in the dark about the teams position. We're talking about a player who knows what's coming and the reasons for it. In regards to the cut itself, now said to be a mere formality, my opinion is unchanged. Make the move whenever the team has finally determined that Warrick's health and future prognosis makes him unworthy of a roster spot. Last month, last week, yesterday, or a week from now...I simply don't care when the axe falls as long as it fell based upon an informed medical opinion or due to the clubs desire to free up cap or roster space needed for another player. El Tigere Posted August 30, 2005 Report Posted August 30, 2005 I think this will just end up hurting us! In 3 preseason games we could have used him in the slot especially on 3rd down! Its a sad day in Cincinnati!!!!!!!!!! Quote
