walzav29
I think that the ought to let Walters run a few with the 1st stringers on Friday. Send a little message that we want the receivers to catch the ball. They seem about the same speed.
mtmeece
Last year Housh had a very good year maybe this will be Walter's year to shine. I think he has the hands for it not sure about the speed. I would take a guy thats a tick slower with great hands over someone who is fast and needs a poorly thrown ball to strrech out and dive for in order to catch it. walshfan
dont know who's faster but seperation is just as important.. Washington could outrun both of them but until he learns to seperate better he cant get open as quickly as either of them......

Stripes
I'm almost certain Houshmandzadeh is faster than Kevin Walter. Walter has been getting separation from 3rd and 4th string DBs, and that's great for him. I'm glad he's been successful, and I also think he should have some opportunities against real defense. That said, Housh burnt the crap out of Carlos Rogers in Washington, and even if he dropped the ball, he showed off some speed.T.J. had his great year last season because of doing the fundamentals right. He had soft hands, ran good routes, and created separation. He has struggled this preseason, no doubt, but it is only an issue of concentration. I'm sure he will push himself to play up to his ability, and when he does, Walter is not in his league.

Walter is just as fast, he has better hands IMO, Both 7th round draft picks, Housh was very much on the bubble this time last year, the only difference between the two is that Housh got the opportunity to showcase after P Dubz got injured. Dadraftnick
I remember seeing when the Bengals picked Walter and Russell that they are susposed to run in the high 4.3's (around 4.39 4.38) thats one of the reasons Marvin picked them up and when T.J. was in the draft they(scouts) had him in the high 4.6's and the Bengals worked him out and he ran a 4.48 and thats why one of the reasons they drafted him. They liked what they saw ,of T.J.,whin they were there to work out Chad Johnson.Players dont run to their timed speed when theiy are running routes anyway. They are turning ,cutting, doing head fakes, ect.The most important thing in a WR is catching and holding onto the ball and separation, anyway, not straight line speed. One thing is for sure Russell and Walter have looked good in preseason.I doint think you can cut either one,but who knows I still cant believe they cut DE Patterson. AMC
for some reason TJ has always looked slow to me, especially on KR.maybe its his running style or height....
walshfan
I doubt the Bengals cut Walters..." out of the league"???? If we did someone would sign him.....
