free agent safetys

anyone know if there are any starting caliber FA safetys the only ones that comes to mind are reggie tongue and brock marion

My first thoughts lean towards doubt. I'd like to snatch up a good safety, and if Warrick goes, then maybe it's more likely. Otherwise, I don't see it happening. Tounge would be welcome for sure, but I suspect he'd be expensive.

Tongue pretty much vanished from sight. As far back as it was when he got cut, you'd figure he'd have signed somewhere by now if he weren't gonna call it quits.

But money wise, I doubt Tongue gets much more than the vet min.

Pretty much ditto for Marion.

Not checked out to see if the Jets are looking at Tongue again since Andre Maddox tore knee ligaments a couple days ago. The Jets did sign SS Aaron Francisco, but might try to get Tongue to return. They got some safety problems of their own.

If the tests on Herring put him out for the year, though, some kind of move surely has to be made at SS.

Maybe they can try to duct tape Rogers Beckett's earholes so his brains don't leak out at impact. Dude sure did like to hit and it's a shame he's out of the game.
