davejames88
Plain and simple look at Phillys D running all over the field and hitting with some anger. Our D on the other hand looks like they don't want to hurt anyone. They are too soft and the new defensive coach well atleast he seems to blitz more then last yrs coach. Why doesn't Marvin help with the defensive calls? Look at the Steelers D same as the Eagles they are fast and hit hard. If the Bengals want to make the playoffs they better get there thumb out of thier AZZ.If the Bengals lose to the Browns in week 1 the season wil go south.. davejames88
Anyone got an opinion on the Bengals D being to soft??
Section 310
I agree that they have looked pretty vanilla...not too many blitzes or shifts. My hope is that they are saving this for gameday in Cleveland. Bresnahan was supposed to bring an attacking, aggressive d.
combatbengal
The entire team looks bad so far. I know we played agains the Eagles, but come on!
BengalszoneBilly
Anyone got an opinion on the Bengals D being to soft?? I got an opinion. This thread should have been called Bengals Defense is too SOFT AGAIN!! I agree that they have looked pretty vanilla...not too many blitzes or shifts. My hope is that they are saving this for gameday in Cleveland. Bresnahan was supposed to bring an attacking, aggressive d. That's what I thought too. Maybe he forgot to unpack it. WhoDeyHomer
It wasnt impressive, thats for sure, but it looked worse than it was. I DO think Philly wanted to make a statement, I think ML and CB didnt think they would use TO as much as they did..... I mean cmon we put Herring on TO the first play of the game? No way would that happen in the regular season ( and they let TO get away with Off. PI constantly). Obviously owens is a handful. That said we still played like crap, so many missed tackles (for christ sakes grab a leg and twist) we playe dlike crap, I think a few instances Madieu woulda helped bigtime. I will say Justin Smith was the only one who seemed to consistently make plays, all over the field too. Pollack actually looked undersized to me, but he was also a little rusty and got better as the game progressed. Hopefully it was a fluke.
