batting .298 now and has 32hrs!

not to mention our starters in the past 10 games have all gone at least 6 innings.

this seems obsured, but were only 9 games out of the wild card.....i would like to see us make a try at it.

The playoffs are out of reach in my opinion, with so few games left to make up that 9 game deficit. Griffey should certainly end up the Comeback Player of the Year, he has a real shot at 40 homers and/or a .300 average. This is why the Reds got him way back when, and without the injury, maybe we can get some pitching next year to make his efforts worthwhile.

The sweetest swing in baseball. I'm glad to see it be the end of August and Grifffey still on the field, first of all.

But what really ticks me off is that there play of late will be enough for me to have hope for next year

Griffey is officially over .300.

I know there's no way in hell he'll win the award, but if he manages to lift that average into the .310s (not likely) and get to 40 homers, with his already nice RBI total, he'd have MVP caliber numbers. Junior's still got it.

B) I'm glad to see this happening for Griffey. If anybody deserves it .... it's him. I personally think he's a shoe in for comeback player of the year, and if he'd been putting up these same numbers earlier, I think he'd have a legit shot at MVP as well.

if the pitching was better early, Griff would be up for MVP....the bad pitching had them playing catch-up all summer....better pitching would have higher in the wild card...

If anything, the injury prohibited Griffey on his timing and confidence on his hamstring. And I don't buy the team has to do well to win the MVP. A-Rod won in 2003 and the Rangers were 71-91.

Wait a second, Griffy isn't injured AND he's having a good year?

AND we expect the Bengals to have a winning season?

AND Marvin Lewis and Mike Brown got a free agent people on the board were wanting (sortof)?

AND the Eagles did another Farewell we quit (again) tour?

THE END IS NIGH! HELL HATH FROZEN OVER!
