HairOnFire
Hey, SIS, good to hear from you again. Hope the litle guy in the picture is doing well. Damn Joisey, are you actually trying to get on sisters last good nerve? That's a little gal in the picture. People, tiny little redheaded women must be cherished above all things. They are our greatest hope. They are the ones our fathers warned us about. They are our future Boobiemistresses. They are our future ex-wives! Yes indeed, HairOnFire loves the gals with hair on fire. HairOnFire
Hobson does the roster spec thing on da site today: http://www.bengals.com/press/news.asp?iCur...=0&news_id=3088Guys that were here last year who he seems to feel might be on the bubble:SchobelLarry MooreClemonsBaumanGreg Brooks (injury issues)Terrel Roberts (ditto)Guys maybe headed to the practice squad:FaneneHD JonesBodyBen Wilkerson(If Warrick makes the final roster add Tab Perry here too) Let's run 'em down.... Schobel - You've got to wonder. In the Washington game the Bengals seemed determined to test Tony Stewart in something more than his traditional blocking role, and Ronnie Ghent does nothing but impress whenever he's given a chance. Factor in the role Ghent plays on special teams and you have to assume that Schobel sits upon a bubble of his own making. My sole concern with Ghent is related to pass protection as he blocked the wrong guy in the Pats game and Kitna got crushed as a result. Moore - O-Line play seems to be as competitive as it is inconsistent. Too close for me to call. Clemons - He's been my favorite whipping boy but only because he was a marginal starter. If all things were equal I'd keep him over Carl Powell. Bauman - Looked great against the Patriots....horrible in limited action against the Redskins. Still, I like him more than the track guy from Michigan. Brooks - I loved his selection in the draft but he can't stay healthy enough to judge where he's at....or care much if he's cut. Roberts - Something tells me they like him. Fanene - Watched him closely in the Pat game. Pretty active but not very effective. Lots of silly head faking instead of hard charging. Then he surprised me by getting a nice sack. Oh yeah, then he pissed me off by doing nothing on the next three plays.....and I mean he barely moved. I think he might have gotten a coverage sack on one of those plays just by being a little bit active, but I think he was totally gassed. All things considered if it comes down to this guy or Elton Patterson...I'd take EP. Jones - I've always liked this guy and he hasn't disappointed me or made me look bad after pimping him as an undrafted free agent. I hope he sticks on the roster or finds a place on the practice squad. Body - All he does is cause fumbles. Did it in college...doing it in NFL games. Wilkerson - Nothing new to add. Tab Perry - He wouldn't make my final roster. I don't have much love for Kevin Walters but Perry hasn't taken his job or anyone elses. Warrick - Nice to see him cleared to play but I'm guessing he remains on the bubble until he shows something.
HoosierCat
My gut says that Hobson's suggestions re: the practice squad are about right, at least as far as they go. I could also see them simply shelving Wilkerson on IR.Warrick's woes, IMHO, are over-hyped. As long as he gets through the rest of the preseason without his knee causing problems, he'll make the final cut. That's all he needs to show; anyone wants to see more, go rewind the 2003 game vs. KC.That means Perry (Tab) is almost certainly headed to the PS.I'm with you on Clemons and Powell, they ought to just pick one. BengalSIS
Hey Joisey. Annika is doing well. Although to the disappointment of some, she is a curly haired blonde I haven't spoken with Shayne in a week. He better be getting better. I'll be really pissed if he isn't. HairOnFire
Hey Joisey. Annika is doing well. Although to the disappointment of some, she is a curly haired blonde A curly haired blonde!!!! Cripers, those types are a dime-a-dozen and hardly worth the time it takes to treat them shabbily. Sis, your picture of Annika is misleading. I see no curls whatsoever, and if the hair in question is blonde that appears to be true only on the sides. The top of that mop looks red to me. BTW, my wife...an ill-tempered brunette...caught a glimpse of Shayne in a video of Marvin firing up the troops and commented on the size of his biceps by stating words I never expected to hear in my lifetime..."Check it out, Opie has got some guns." HoosierCat
first preseason cuts per bengals.com...The Bengals cut their first group of players this preseason before Sunday’s practice, letting go a college free agent and three veterans. Georgia rookie fullback Jeremy Thomas, wide receiver Freddie Milons, offensive lineman Reece Hicks, and defensive lineman Derrick Crawford got the word, leaving the club with 80 players on the roster. The Bengals have to be down to 65 players by Aug. 28 and 53 by Sept.

I sincerely feel for the guy losing his child but he needs to get his head on straight and make the most of what opportunities he has left. I would imagine that his child would have wanted for him to do the same.If he does get cut, I wish him the best and hope that time will lesson his pain. KiLBurn
Schoebel needs to wake the hell up... How many catches can you, honestly, recall him having in his entire career here? I can think of one. I can think of more stupid offseason stunts by other teams TE's than I can recall good plays by our own TE.I'm not impressed with ANY of our TE's. Hopefully, this will change soon.
